Just a minor nipick, but in the Solatis VII rules, it had exactly the same delay as an AC/20, 2 and all other ACs and the LB-X had a Dl of 1, except the AC/2 and MG which were 0.

Minimum ranges were in though.

Your knowledge is outdated. UAC5/s, AC/5s and AC/2s outnumber Gauss Rifles at the moment.

In all honesty, a ton of AC20 ammo, if hit, will cause 120 points of damage to you. Gauss rifle ammo is inert, therefore the only risk of using it can come from detonating the Gauss and making it fragile. As far as practicality, this simply puts in a partial disadvantage to using the Gauss that other ballistics already have.

The only builds this will make 'risky' are the Gauss in side torso + XL engine builds, as CASE won't help them. Every other ballistic is far more volatile if the ammo is struck than Gauss will ever be.

I find them as fragile as most weapons. It is because most of the time these things are on Catapults, and the Cat carries it in it's side torsos which give it a fair amount of armor coverage and the odd arm in the way....I pretty much use zoom and aim for the RT of every mech I engage (except for Big Al, always the left eye...). then the left. This handles hunchies too. Streakcats are easily de-eared, and the ac frak boat can be litterally dis-armed....Though since there is nada in those torsos on the 4x picking a leg, where the ammo usually is hiding is easier....No, the weapon is no more fragile then any other really and it does occupy a number of critical slots making it easy to hit, it is a big, solid weapon.

They are not nerfing anything.



Except the substantial reduction to internal health values that is.

This means that a gauss rifle is a large target taking up more than 50% of the available space in a given location that can house it.On top of that it will have fewer internal hitpoints making it easyer to KO than it is now,and that is it's very easy to KO now.And once it'***** and it's substantially reduced internal health is depleted it explodes.

I will give it a test but maybe reduced hitpoints AND exploding is a bit much.
