Negative, but I believe it will at least sell for more than normal with any upgrades applied.

Actually, I hate to disappoint, but it won't things like Endo steel, DHS and artemis do not increase the value of the mech. The only way it would sell for more then the stock variant, would be if you replaced the weapons and the engine with the more expensive ones and then chose to sell internal components with the mech... Even then, you only get half what it was worth. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

At least you get to keep your XP, so if you buy that same Mech back later it'll come pre-leveled up.

If I'm going for elite XP unlocks, can I sell a mech I've already unlocked all the basic XP rewards for and just cycle the variants I need to unlock without having to own them all at once?

You can, however, keep in mind that if you want to unlock the master later, you need to have all the elites done, on 3 mechs, so you might want to get all the elite ones done as well, before selling the chassis, so you don't have to rebuy it in the future.

Your best bet is to not sell your mechs. Selling them is such a negative on credits that it just isn't worth it if there is any chance you will want to pilot that mech sometime in the future. Since the game is still changing there is a good chance something will come out that makes you go, "Oh I wish I had (Mech X) with it's (hardpoint)."

Yeah, I agree with Mercules. If you can possibly afford the extra mech bays, and your OCD can handle the cluttered mess that is an overcrowded mechlab, just don't sell mechs.

One, it's not worth the financial loss. Two, we're so early in development right now, there's no telling with mechs will become more awesome and useful down the road. Look at how much ECM is going to change the four mechs it's attached to, for example.
