Just thinking about our nice new camo schemes and how we never really get to enjoy them personally since we're always in the cockpit.
I think it would be great to have a post match, chat enabled, replay available in 3rd person view (or toggle between 1st and 3rd). That way you would be able to see your mech stomping around melting adversaries with an open commentary.

I hate the idea of 3rd person play.
I love the idea of 3rd person spectate/replay. This game's best feature to me is the looks.
Not worried about ghosting.

This is one great suggestions and I actually came here to suggest the same before I stumbled over the OPs topic:

Introduce match replays!

In match replays you can

• choose whatever view you like
  
• jump from mech to mech
  
• adjust a virtual camera
  
• take screenshots of your mech from every (im)possible direction and in any situation
  
• ... and so on

And all of this without the bad influence 3rd person view would have on the real matches. I can imagine that this could satisfy many of the people requesting 3rd person view for this FPS ...
