Having 3rd person view will enhance the game not hurt it. If you don't like it then don't use it. I think it would be nice for positioning but it is sad that you often need it and don't have it.


There is no way they can add working third person to the game without breaking MWO's gameplay. There is no way they can make MWO and have players divided into two camps, each with their own gaming system. It can't be done, once they add 3rd person MWO is 3rd person only with optional cockpit view. They might think they can, but the game is already so delayed. MWO should be Live with Community Warfare (clan vs clan ranking/gameplay) right now.

Hate to be so negative, but the Devs better think this through. Devs make the game and players define it.

Anyone played BF3? I was a Jet Pilot in BF3. It had near simulator mechanics. This person view ruined the simulation, and allowed a tactical advantage. I stopped playing after that.

PGI got taken for a ride by morons. They do everything the noobs say.

Guys, you can't yield to everyones wishes! If this game is a simulator then so be it! If someone wants to play, they have to learn, just like all other games out there.

Why not just give them all free bots and hacks and let them roam free?


How dare you call their intelligence into question!! Don't you know that PGI are the chosen ones and are infallible in all things!?!

It is simple really. He just lied.
My guess is that the basement in which his mother lets him live has lately been seeming very sad.
So he has created an awesome persona. Of course he can not imagine actually being someone so the closest he could come up with is an uber simulation pilot.

Sad really.

Cam views will be nice like in some flight simulators they have em. (Fly by, front/side/top views...etc), but 3rd person for battle...nah..

^ This is my thoughts exactly. All I really need is a limited external view to look at my battle damage, paint jobs etc. It's been done in flight sims for ages so no real reason not to implement it for MWO... but a full on 3D person view with working HUD, cross-hairs etc...just NO!
