So pugs being able to talk to each other before the game and pick their mechs is going to make it easier for premades to beat them? I don't follow your logic...

A game lobby is important for several reasons:

- A sense of immersion and community (you aren't alone)

- Allows players to interact outside of the game, talking smack and keeping the community alive (some of the fondest memories I had of D2 was talking smack in the lobby with friends)

- Allows for easier recruiting or group finding

- Custom channels to ease comms for specific topics (e.g. LFG, Strategy/Tactics, Mech Builds, Issues/Bugs, Merc Corps, etc)

And when CW comes in a greater sense of affinity/association with a particular house/merc corp.

Also equally important as different game modes and maps that can be selected if desired. And if they ever implement tournaments, the option of picking ladder games vs CW games.

I hope they spend 0 hours on a lobby, at least until after they implement CW. I don't want "'Mech Deathmatch," I want MechWarrior. We're not there yet.

We are very long time away from CW being implemented. I'm guessing 12-18 months if the game lasts that long. They have so much work to do to get even what we currently have up to speed, and we don't have much.

and yet what we have now is closer to mech deathmatch than having a lobby would be.

i'd like to see a lobby, but devs have already made it perfectly clear that they'd rather have a moronic attempt at matchmaking through awkward group limitations and a feeble attempt at working out an ELO-style system in phase 3. and when community warfare finally rolls around with lobbies, all the work they're putting into it now becomes obsolete

actually, the more i think about it, the clearer it becomes that community warfare is a pipe dream that will never come to fruition. matchmaking, the different game modes, why bother when community warfare won't need any of that, unless they never really expected this game to last long enough to get to CW (which, at the rate they're going, won't be til ~2014)

thats so true ,the worst part about this whole thing is they never reply or ever comment on a lobby everyone for the most part would like to be able to communicate with each other ,even talk alittle smak which we cant even do excpt on fourms or if your on a team with voice coms.
its really said with everything they are doing , to not include something so basic and nessary to this game

pretty sure we could pick better mechs and pwn them even harder.

If they used a blind pick system (neither team can see what their opponents pick), it would at least give the pubbies a fighting chance at organizing and developing a strat. As it is they're just cannon fodder.

It is on their massive list of things to.
I really do not expect it until we get closer to CW time, since it will absolutely be needed for that.

I have more suggestions on how to fix the game in the thread-which-shall-not-be-named (in my sig - down there...)

A lobby and ingame voice chat are long overdue.

I have the feeling that currently there is very little progress to the games development. The "new" maps are a welcome addition but I feel that hero mechs do not add anything to the game at this point. Especially since they are MC only and look like a blatant money grab. I do not mind money making features per se, I just do not feel they should be a priority when crucial features such as a lobby are still missing.

lobby gives ppl more options than just hitting a start button and pray for smart players, everyone can organize up and play.
lobby might even help the mm more than anything cause more puggers will be able to find other puggers to play .then the lonewolves be the small minority
