I feel that PGI has underestimated what people will pay for and has decided that they will make more money having players purchase items multiple times. This the wrong approach.
People are likely to pay more money for content if the content is made easy to use and can be readily applied to everything they use in the game.
No one wants to move Hula girls and coconut monkeys around from mech to mech. No one wants to remove and repurchase paint jobs.
but
People will happily buy Hula girls and paint jobs, if they know they won't have to buy them again.
The current system feel like it is too focused on pulling every last penny out of every action. I think many people are like me and are reluctant to buy these new features because they are too obviously nickel and dimming the customer to death.
I am a willing, paying customer. I will buy new content when you produce it. Don't make me waste that money multiple times on content you have already released. I will reject it, and instead, purchase nothing.
