lets theoreticaly accept the fact that at launch there will be 12 mechs, from witch 10 we already know, only Light Jenner and ligher heavy, the 65 ton Catapult have jump jets....
no medium have jump jets and I already fear that the last assault added to game wouldnt have jump jets, since we dont have any 85,90,95 tonner, what JJ mechs from era of MWO that are kinda popular good designs with good chance to get it to game?
all I can think of is Highlander

We've yet to see whether PGI has stated that equipment (BAP, ECM, Jump Jets, etc.) is Chassis and/or Variant Dependent. In other words:
> Any Mech can equip JJ's as long as they have the tonnage
> Only Chassis X (and all its variants) can equip JJ's
> Only certain variants of Chassis X can equip JJ's.
PGI hasn't really explained if they'll be segregating equipment. In a way, I hope they do. I don't want every Mech to be JJ capable. I'm more for the last choice, where, say, a Jenner can equip JJ's, but only on certain variants, rather than just saying that "All Jenners can".

I don't think I would mind either way if JJs were available to all mechs or restricted in some way. If an assault mech wants to reduce weight in other areas to run with JJs they are probably running a lighter weapon load or smaller engine. I wouldn't expect many assault pilots to trade firepower or even engine size for JJs but maybe in lighter mech weight classes it might be more common.

Example; "Pillager lines only began production again in 3058 when advanced components were once again available for the PLG-3Z."
May have to wait a bit.

How did this thread get this far without mentioning the Highlander?
The Highlander is pretty much the jumping assault in 3049, or at least the one that can jump will still retaining the fact it is a heavy hitter. I'd definitely take it over stuff like the Victor.

Considering the era...we could have the modernized Kurita Charger
.. the Dragoon Shogun and Marauder II
maybe the Gunslinger...because it was early Clan Invasion when the production started
