Clan Star

What are people's opinions about what will or should happen when the clans invade. If players play as the clans, which i hope will happen, will they have better tech and be in clan star of five mechs? If so, it sounds like a fun challenge for inner sphere players.

I think it's a bit early to say, but when sh*t goes down, it should feel like a big change in the game. Yes, 5-man stars in a Cluster should be fighting vs IS Lances/Companies, because that's how it went down in canon.

Would 3 lances vs 1 star be a fair fight?

if they stick to only being able to field 12 vs 12 and the clan mech and tech are more superior than the IS mech and tech... the highest youll probably see a game go then will be 12 IS mech (a company) vs 10 clan mech (2 Stars or in clan structure... a Binary)

This is what I see happening too. Probably still an advantage for the clans but not insurmountable for the IS.

Scratch that :) got to excited lol. Forgot that the Kodiak is not introduced till 3001

12 on 10 is just a waste of time unless the CLan pilots really suck... IS with only IS tech needs right around 2-1 advantage in tonage to have a reasonable chance of winning(Given same quality of pilots on both sides)

Ehh. We have a year or so to build fortunes. While Clan Tech beats IS tech, I highly doubt that there will be a ton of players rolling around WITHOUT Endo Steel and/or FF by that point. The availability of the Helm/Rosebud tech was what hurt the IS the most. That, thankfully, is something we won't likely see a problem with.

You really think so? Ill tell you what. Give me some time to play this game and 3 lance mates I can count on and work well together as one well oiled killing unit and not to sound like Im the greatest to pilot a mech, but I give you my word that me and my lance of inferior IS pilots can stand toe to toe with any Clan star and even come out on top :)
