Any evidence for this?

The total absence of any significant development.

Maybe you haven't noticed but MWO ads are everywhere! I suspect a large amount has been put into marketing which is a very very good idea.

AWESOME. I am so glad they are dropping big bucks on crappy travian-style PLAY HERE MY LORD ads instead of making the game better.

oh, you think you know the cashflows of PGI,
please tell me how it is to be the their accountant...

It is a company, they earn money, and they do with it, how they see fit..
A little bit naive to think they only invest in MW:O... (no evidence given for this fact btw)

Just be happy they don't use paragraph 10.1 of their term of use

Termination by Us. So... Where do you think the money came from to develope the game prior to the release of the Founders program? Salaries of the artist, developers, servers... the building itself...

They got a loan from someone (who runs a business and not a charity) who expected certain rights and privileges for loaning the money.

Now skip a few months to the Founders program. Money comes in and there is a choice... Pay off/reduce the loan and become more independent as a developer or reinvest into the game but not have as much control because a stakeholder is looking over your shoulder pushing things to be released earlier or put in more revenue generating that may break a game but recoup costs.

I think we are somewhere in the middle right now. On the good side, your Founders contribution has made the game possible and that is a good thing. Remember, after mechwarrior 4 not even MIcrosoft wanted to continue working the license.

If you don't like where MWO is now, ask yourself if you would rather have had nothing instead.

The accounting details are not privy to us, but let's just say that people don't just willingly give away money. If money went from PGI to IGP was in exchange for a loan then the money did go to MWO in that way. But giving them more money to develop more games that don't help PGI in any way?

Say, would you mind treating me to lunch? No strings attached. Just because you're a nice person.

No? Pity.
