I once dropped into a game while PUGging and ended up on Lyoto's team. It was an epic game that came down to the wire, and he proved himself a formidable player.
Last night when I was playing with my pals, and saw him on the other team, I could not resist.
I sent out over an unsecured channel (all-chat ) "Mechwarrior Lefty Lucy challenges Mechwarrior Lyoto Machida to a trial of possession."
The reply, as befitting a mechwarrior of his status was, "I accept."
My bid was a single cataphract 2x.
His bid was a cataphract 4x.
He chose the location in a secluded corner of the battlefield, and I allowed him the first shot. As we were both in heavily-armed 70-ton mechs, it was a short match, but I prevailed with a heavily damaged center torso internal structure.
In honor of my successful trial, I will paint my own CTF-4X in draconis colors to represent my isorla.
Well-met, Lyoto Machida-san.

Honorably transfering thread to Off Topic.

Eh, I feel like it would have been fitting in general discussion. I think the community could deal with some examples of members being stand-up players.

Agreed. This is a general discussion about the game.

It is a good and healthy discussion... but *technically* fits Off Toipc. I'll go ask some questions about it

Yea I think it belongs in general discussion. It is firmly on the topic of MWO gameplay after all.

Well, it's a personal shout-out/communiqué... this topic is being discussed among the mod team right now.
Now, a thought I had...
If someone wanted to initiate a General Discussion about spontaneous Honor Duels in MechWarrior: Online, how much fun they are, their positive impact on game play, and you happen to know of an example that you'd like to illustrate (and,of course, publicly thank the participants since they are being publicly discussed), then that'd be totally awesome. It would create a positive thread intended specifically to discuss ways to enhance our playing experiences by creating your own Meta Games while we wait for Community Warfare to drop.

Way to stand out Lyoto! Nicely done!
And Lefty Lucy, may your enemy's chassis run deep at your feet. You honor our brother with your gracious post.

So.. the Sr. Mods have getten back to me and reitterated the Status Quo where personal shout-outs have to be slung down to Off Topic, although we all agree that duels and stuff like that are great and fun.
But, seeing there is a lack of general discussion regading Duels, Zelbrigen, and Trials of Possession, I would encourage anyone here to start that discussion in the GenDIs section of the fourms. It can't simply be a repository of dueling stories, as that would render it suitable for Off Topic, but an open discussion of the practice along with individuals' stories would be quite welcome.
