Hi, I'm a LRM launching HBK-4SP. Here's some advice, from me to you: Nothing is OP. There is only OP based on circumstances. Dual AC/20s hurts like hell in close quarters, but gets screwed over by anything long range. LRMs f__k s__t up over long ranges, but are useless in close quarters. One small laser doesn't hurt too much, seven will melt you, etc. Thing is, you're putting yourself in terrible situations where circumstance favors your enemy.
Don't fight on their terms. Fight on yours.

If I can dodge LRMs in my Atlas with ease, you need to learn how to play the darn game. Just sayin'.

Biggest thing is, Jump jets are not as intended atm. you can have 1 loly slot occupied by Jumps and get the full thrust and all jump ports operating with it. this should not be, in order to use it, they should have to go in the areas where there needed, like any hard point the game should have EG: Right torso, AMS 1/0, Energy 1/1, then... Jump Jets 2/0 or 2/1 or 1/1 etc etc
so anypoint that actually use it, IE jenner, needs it in torso and left righ torso, a cataphract needs it in its legs, and so on.
which also then limits a mech rather than some of the stuff you can currently get away with.
and in the case of the LRM Cata's your concerned about, they will consume another 2-4 tons then some one currently just using one (which is all you need atm)
then your jet packing worries weill be less, because if he sacrifices thrust speed/overall thrusting time, or installs the full 4-5 required for full thrust, how many tones less of amo is that? will he be useing LRM 20's? or LRM 15's now? did he have endo steel? jump jets are taking up more slots, as are double heat sinks, more considerations of taking up more slots etc etc...
i could go on, but the two reason jenners are power houses for light atm is, there ability to sacrifice the extra few .5 tones from the jumps for more armor/cool/weapons + lag shield, which the net frame work is a big issue, but one that will take a long time to fix etc.
so everything is relative, and most of it is known...

Long range support mechs are not supposed to be front mechs that do most of the damage.

Line one, IS COMPLETE HORSE DUNG! Please, you and every other direct fire pilot out there needs to rethink their apporach. LRMS have always been powerful in every implimentation of Mechwarrior. Like any other weapon. Every weapon is perfectly capable of handing out a sever beat down if used properly. Further, I have yet to see an LRM boat played solo that has outclassed my brawler D-DC or my CTF-4x ac5/uac5 bullet hose.
The second line is QTF. And you will continue to be outplayed if you continue to use the same old rush tactic and refuse to think. "The THINKING Man's Shooter" Yep, its a direct quote from the trailers. START THINKING!
~Zephyre
P.S. I am really sick of the lrm complaints. You unfortunately just happen to be the proverbial straw too much.

This is a funny thread for me.
Just had someone (who i shant name) calling me 'Trash' for using LRMs...
Funny thing was i was only using 1 LRM20 and 1 LRM15 on a 2x phract, i was mastering the phracts (completed now - all to master...my 2x is now sold, so no more LRM spam....).
The only viable loadout on the 2x that suited me was 1LRM20, 1 LRM15 and 2 LL, worked for me - i had a 5 kill streak in one game.
I understand where they are coming from calling me trash for using LRMs. It IS a sucky way to play...but they are part of the game. Always will be and thats how it SHOULD be. Morons like {insert name here} should learn to deal with it. (i'm on about the guy who called me trash, not anyone on these forums btw ).
ECM is coming, SSRM getting nerfed.
I think balance will be achieved soon.
TBH tho LRM seem fine as they are - its very easy to dodge them, hide in cover, team AMS etc. etc.
Spose what im saying is they arn't that big of a deal right now.(LRM at least...streakpaults are another thing entirely...).

lrm's are very easy to dodge and people need to learn this. Cover works great but there is another way you need to learn to avoid lrm damage even in the open. Just break the lock and they are gonna miss.
