About 7 months ago I used Ventrillo in my then clan, before joining TAW and using Teamspeak 3.

My personal experiences with the ingame software are not that good.

I would be interested in knowing how many clans/pubbies are using TS3 vs Ventrillo vs Mumble, or other vs the Ingame voip software, so have added a poll to this topic?

not according to OP, there is only 2 plus in game one.
and i would rather use 2 soup cans on a string than either of those 3 choices

Ventrilo is a much better piece of software, but much like Macintosh vs. Windows it's just too hard for most people to optimize. Ventrilo is a better VOIP if you know what you're doing but for the macbook experience TS3 wins hands down. TS3 just works, albeit about 80% as well as vent but it takes 1000% more effort to get Vent working better than TS3 out of the box.

For that reason I voted Ventrilo but I never expect to get off TS3 all the same.

I want my C3 integration NOW! Don't get me wrong, I use TS3 for this game, and Vent for most everything else. But the devs have decided to use C3 for integrated VOIP, so that's what I'll use when it is integrated.

The reason? Simple. So I can communicate with a greater percentage of players with a minimal level of fuss.

I have to admit to being conflicted, I like Mumble because its small and lot of pubbies use it, then ofc they also use TS3.

I find TS3 has more functionality though and Mumble does echo quite a lot at times, so I am going to have to go with TS3.

I tried C3 when it was first intergrated but had to many problem with it so move to TS3 and got a server never looked back since

If MWO had fully integrated VOIP a la Left 4 Dead or TeamFortress I'd use it.

It doesn't so I use Teamspeak

I usually use teamspeak, even if I am playing solo. However for games which you cannot drop together with a full group covering your side(I prefer balanced matches with random variables to sharpen my skills rather than matches where there are no randoms on our side, but enemy is a mystery), I'd use in game chat or combination of the two for separation of global messages and group messages.

Considering the poll doesn't have multi-select for the second option I chose in game.

even if they ever do get c3 working properly I wont be using it, typically in game built in voice systems are horrible. Even if it didn't my unit has a TS server and we'll be sticking to that.
