My computer specs are:
Windows Vista (sucks, I know)
4 GB ram
AMD 64 x2 dual core 5000+ 2.60 GHz
Nvidia Geforce 8300 6s
And the error code added in this information, if it's helpful:

Am I reading this correctly? If so, it sounds like (though I'm no expert on CPU specs) that my computer might just need a more powerful graphics card? And my graphics card is what my computer came with. It was suppose to support games, at the time I should say. I've had that computer for probably 6 years? Guessing? It's been awhile.
I'd love to just update it, but I don't want to stop using it either. It's like a good friend... not to mention I have no money to buy a new computer with. Though a video card could be negotiated as a possible Christmas gift if that's all I needed...
So far, I've been stealing... I mean... borrowing my brother's computer for this game, but he'd love to play with me side by side. Can't when my computer can't stop lagging the game up. I can't even lock on enough to fire missiles. If I hit, I'm just being lucky with my computer.
If everything is too old (or you need more information to determine), just let me know so I don't waste money on a new video card that could have been saved for a new computer.

So, to begin with you were lied too...the 8300GS was never meant to play games. Not to steal from wikipedia but
"In the summer of 2007 NVIDIA released the entry level GeForce 8300GS and 8400GS graphics cards, based on the G86 core. The GeForce 8300 was only available in the OEM market, and as the GeForce 8300 mGPU motherboard GPU. These graphics cards were not intended for intense 3D applications such as fast, high-resolution video games. They were originally designed to replace the 7200 and 7300 models, but could not due to their poor game performance"
Second off, even still 6 years is a long time in hardware development, MWO is running on the Crytek 3 engine, a brand new engine meant to push the highest end graphics, and as such can straing the highest end graphics cards.
Personnaly, the age of your computer, your gonna run into bottlenecks. Even if you spend money on a graphics card, the CPU will bottleneck it, or your powersupply will simply not be powerful enough to run it. Your cpu also falls under the minimum spec required to run, again it may run but your pushing some really old hardware. Not to counter what watchit says, buy your simply in a area of hardware that is missing key features and power to get the proper results, the developers can do very little for you. Im gonna take a guess that your not be very technical savy, but if you have any desre to learn, and honestly its incredibly simple to, build your own computer. To give you a quick list, again now stealing from neogaf:

This is a nice spreadsheet of different recommended builds and their cost. For you i would simply recommend the cheapest build, $435, and thats using normal costs, shop abit, wait for sales and you can bring that down. Sites like newegg, ncix and amazon are the easiest to recommend for computer hardware

For example using PassMark to test the CPU your AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ scores 1292 points on average while the minimum CPU for MWO, the Core2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz gets 1525.
I would also recommend you lookout for some Christmas discounts on a new PC or build your own, maybe with help from a friend who knows more about PC's in general. You can always ask questions on the forums, we have a Hardware section with tons of people who can help

I'll tell people to get together and buy me a new computer tower. Though, as people suggest, I'd love to make my own. I know how to assemble a computer, but wouldn't know what the technical information I'd be looking at to choose the individual parts that would be better...
Funny thing is, my computer plays Guild Wars 2 with only minor problems, with all settings brought to lowest of low settings of course.
I'd like to thank everyone for their help. You just confirmed what I was already thinking.

That's 2008-2009, so contemporary to CryEngine 2 (what Crysis used). So, is it an old card by CE2 standards? No, but remember that Crysis itself is still considered a resource-hungry game today, and back in 2007 you needed a rig with some serious teeth just to run it, let alone run it well.
So now we're on CE3, which is 2011-2012 tech, and on top of that we're trying to contort that engine into doing things it's not meant to do (multi-point articulation on vehicles, visible cockpit details, picture-in-picture, etc.) and we're trying to make it cooperate with all of that in DirectX 9.
I'm a little surprised that MWO doesn't just chew up and spit out any GPU that's not GTX 670 or better. I'm more than a little surprised that my little 6870, slightly overclocked but still decidedly mediocre, can run the game with anything remotely resembling playability... and your card is a bit less powerful than mine even.
Time to upgrade? You can get a good 7-series Radeon for around $100 US.
