Not sure if it is or isn't, but that Catap might want to get his case of crotch glow™ looked at.

No, that's not it... the Atlas in the water is taking it from two sides, most likely a Jenner with a Medium Laser at its back.

Same photo... smack dab in the middle, there's a black hole -at least that's how it appears to me- and it looks like a crater... does it look that way to anyone else. Bryan's already said the terrain will not be deformed by combat, so maybe it's there from a supposed earlier battle?

The screen-shots look awesome, I'm still going through them.

One thing the screen-shots show is that targeting a mech gives you information on what weapons they've got, even if it's a custom load-out. For example screen 7 shows an Atlas targeting a Catapult that has 2 LL and 6 ML. Would that be available to everyone, or, hopefully, via some advanced scouting module or ability or something? Being able to scan the other team and instantly tell what weapons they've got will make things less interesting/will remove an element of surprise.

If it works out they have stated, you will have to keep LOS (+ reticule) on a Mech long enough to gather that info. In the case of that Catapult, it is highly likely that you will get your surprise, full on in the face, before that data has time to come in.

After that surprise wears off, a smart Warrior will be staying the hell away from that friggin thing. LOL

six pulse lasers could easily wear down armor add jump jets then you got a hit and run mech... fire jump and move to another spot... equipe salvaged Clan lasers and you have a more deadly mech.

Nice share!

Probably not a mech I'll be fielding, but still an interesting idea. Small Lasers can be DEVISTATING in high numbers.

I used to pilot an Atlas...

..until I took a small laser to the knee.

This screenshot not only does a great job in showing Mech scales (which btw look SPOT ON) but it also shows the default muted skins, which look really nice in the game world. You don't see no pink in these screenies, and they day you DO, it'll be the Mech that's a smoking pile of wreckage.

The Catapult looks almost as big as the Atlas for some reason, though I don't think it is in-game. There's something about the perspective that isn't matching up to the mini-map...

If I destroy all internal structure in a torso, then the arm attached to that now destroyed torso has nothing to work with or against for physical motion, all electronics, cooling, command wires, hydraulics, myomers etc are gone. I assume this means the arm does not work.

It is why I am asking. I have no problem with them doing a physics based damage transfer, In other words based on physics and angles of damage, if it indeed reduces a structure to zero armor and zero internal structure it should naturally continue to punch thru to what is behind that section.

The tabletop does this with the damage transfer diagram, which may or may not be appropriate based on Cry3 engine so, hence again, my question stands as this is an interesting question and will affect game play immensely. I don't want to see magically exploding mechs because the leg got blown off. I would however expect to see an arm not work if the torso was destroyed next to it. Etc.

Chris

Agreed.

Agreed.

All i can say is wow, the terrain in that screen shot looks awesome with the reflection of the lasers coming off the water, to the hill top in the back round with the trees on it, i think its kinda an illusion, looks like the atlas is knee deep in the water slightly farther away, and the cat is standing on a small patch of land closer to the camera.

Nice indeed! I like this idea. Pulse lasers are one of my favorites.
