When you enter the range of an enemy ECM in disrupt mode, your Mech will be cut off from communications with your teammates and some of your targeting equipment will cease to function. Mechs that are within the field of a hostile ECM are marked with a symbol that looks like low signal bars.
When your Mech is disrupted by an enemy ECM:
•You will not know where your teammates are, and they won’t know where you are, unless you have direct line of sight to each other.
•You cannot share any targeting data with the rest of your team, and vice versa.
•You cannot achieve any missile locks.
•Your TAG laser can still fire but provides no bonuses.

I.e. if you're at least 180m away from any enemy ECM 'mech and less than 450m away from the target you want to TAG, you can TAG and lock that target (and your team-mates can lock it too).

right, if you are outside the 180m bubble, and inside your TAG's range, it should work as intended.
Except the ECM also removes the abiltiy ot target unless you are within 200m, leaving a narrow band of 20m between 'ok i can target you now' and 'ffs no signal bars'

You can still aim the TAG with the Mark I Eyeball out to 450m, and when it hits - BAM! Target lock.
If that's how it works. We'll see in about eight hours or so

That is exactly what I read when I was looking into ECM for my COM-2D. You can TAG up to 450 and target a ECMed mech, making the TAG a must have tool for scouts. My only worry is gonna be working on hitting the sweet spot where I can TAG, and successfully use streaks, so 180-270 is gonna be my sweet spot after the patch. That or I could run counter ECM...
