Actually the Atlas has around 124 total CT armor, combining front and back. That's 5 AC20 shots to go through the front CT armor alone (assuming a sane amount of rear armor) - speaking of MWO not standard B-tech where 62 is the total.

The armor you see on the armor screen is already doubled. A cataphract has about 60ish armor on its CT (if you up it at all) AFTER the armor doubling.

This sounds like the same thing i was experiencing with the awesome chassis. Except everyone flames you say, "The torso is large duh" Its nice to hear other mechs are experiencing it too. (post flame)

Yeah I think its netcode. I gave up and watching TV instead. I hit a Dragon with 7 Alphas from my Atlas in his CT and he never did die. At the end of the match it said I did something like 320 damage. The Dragon was my only target using two ERLL and an AC 20. I know I hit him dead center torso as I was very carefull. That was the only Mech I shot at and it ran off after me scoring 320 damage? No thanks.

I'm not sure CTF is half armored.
But I'm sure something is wrong.

I completely agree. I have been using my new Hero CTF, and I definitely feel like I am underarmoured for my size, despite having max armour on the model. My CT seems to drop alarmingly quickly, even from one PPC. Either way, something is bugged for sure. Still love the mech though.

I've been digging my CTF-2X.

It seems slightly more fragile than my awesome, I think the real issue is that the Catapult seems way too durable because its hitboxes are so wonky. So the other heavies seem really squishy

I main DRGs AWSs and CN9s so Im used to chubby CTs

I am not sure if this is an illusion or not.

Since early beta I have been almost exclusively in mediums and lights and I finally went crazy when I came back recently and got the 1x, 2x and the new hero Cataphrach and wow they are tough mechs. They have decent speed, lots of firepower, and what feels like a lot of armor for me. I am pretty happy.

I find my Cataphract is acceptably sturdy while enemy ones are my second favorite target next to Hunchbacks, lol Hunchbacks.
