If ya think about it, if they would reduce the price to a reasonable amount, I would probably buy at least christmas lights for multiple mechs, instead of just one.

So, make them cheaper and sell more, not more expensive and sell less.

I would like to point out that we now live in a Micro transaction world. Apple and Android have proven the Model beyond the wildest dreams of everyone. If you charge your customers 99 cents they will click need want must have without even batting an eye. If you give them Quality items for 5 bucks they will buy it without question based on the merit of it being worth while to them. Look at Angry Birds the game that has made more money then god since its inception....99c and internal 99c micro transactions built inside with expansions at 99c.
Its a proven model that makes BILLIONS.. BILLIONS. Its a model that works. You have ten pages of your BETA TESTERS !!! telling your current model WILL NOT WORK !
Pay attention.

I've got a lump of coal beside my laptop. Sure it does not bob up and down but I got a whole 20kg sack full of them for only 2,250 MC.

(On an exchange rate of €7=$9=2,250MC)

I think the group that makes the fluff should be moved to making game patches. Their stuff looks great ! but the damn prices are being run by the same people that cant tell what their players really want.

Jiminy H Christ! Get off your holier than thou high horse. Most people who say happy holidays or the like, do it out of respect for the fact that many of the people you are saying it to celebrate other non-christian holidays over the season.

Oh and by the way.... Christmas is a stolen pagan holiday, and many of it's "traditions" derive from it's pagan origins... You know, things like trees, wreaths, santa claus, etc.

I think it's you who need an education, and many of us are sick of "christians" shoving their lunatic, fairy-tale beliefs on everyone else.

Bahahaha!!! Give him some time and he might even realize that Christmas isn't even a Christian holiday, originally. One of the many absorbed holidays Christians adopted/absorbed from other religions.

While it's clever disguising the $$ cost by converting to MC, I think you're missing the point of the micro-finance model. Folks are willing to drop a dollar or two on silly things, and they'll do it over and over again. $5 for Christmas lights and $20 for a new mech is a bit much. Maybe your sales volumes tell you different, but when the Founders MC starts running out I think you'll see a drop-off.

When I saw that the christmas vanity stuff was out, I thought "oh cool, maybe I'll pick up some stuff for my mechs." Then I saw the prices... holy cow, are you kidding me?

Same here. It's just christmas stuff, after christmas it's useless. In other online games, that special christmas stuff is for free - just for the fun.

I feel as though we were misled with the forum post regarding the new items in the patch. "Tactical Options" by turning off the Xmas lights implies that others can actually SEE the damn things. I feel like a huge sucker. Even bigger than paying 30 dollars to play an alpha build of a game. A game which hopefully survives long enough to be awesome. I love where this game is going, but leading your players to spend tons of money on a game that is far from ready is absurd. The new hero mech is like 23-25 dollars. A legendary skin in LOL is like 15 bucks, and that's the most expensive single item they offer. But the kicker? EVERYONE can SEE it.

I looked at the prices once and shook my head. PGI, you really need to rethink your strategy at this rate. I want to spend MC and feel good doing so, not feel ripped off.

While the prices are outrageous, find any free to play that gives away cosmetic upgrades for ingame currency. I play LOL, PS2, and I've dabbled in a few others, and i don't think you'll find it. The major problem here is the fact that your colors have to be bought EVERY time, and the prices are too high.

Why do so many people feel entitled to a xmas gift? I think price is too high. Won't buy them. Nuff said.

What an absolute pile of sniveling anti-capitalism vomit...

MW:O is a piece of software entertainment... A piece of entertainment software that is free-to-play (or not) at your leisure. To even attempt to draw a parallel between government entitlement programs and that of a piece of software is delusional and baseless.

wow... I've read a lot of stuff on this form that has made me do a double-take but this one damn near made me fall out of my chair.

Entitlement much?

Actually I'm in Glendale so I get the benefit of hobnobbing with the pansy waste wine sippers in Whitefish Bay and and the blue collar working stiffs in Milwaukee proper.

I earn what I keep and keep what I earn... Some call it "Middle-Class".

When the game has so many issues should you really waste time on this kind of staff?

Actually, I believe we should: discussing this kind of stuff may help PGI achieve a good business model and make sure that the game lives long and prosper!

I bought the Christmas Tree, but they are fairly expensive for inside the cockpit. How about some Santa, Elf, Snowman, outfits for Mechs or outside-the-Mech Christmas lights? Even a Mech Santa or Elf hat would be fun. Imagine a life size Atlas with a Santa Hat or a Commando with an Elf hat; I'd buy it.
