Well, PGI, stop trying to make every small change looking like an event. Black Prophecy just died THAT way.

Lets leave all fictitious religious entities (every one of them) out of MWO.

holidays = holy daze but mostly it = $$$ because you have been trained to need to spend money for gifts because a date on the calender says to.

Swag prices that are equal to or greater than real world purchases are not going to do well IMHO. I was thinking of getting the new hero mech also but even that's a bit much. Saving my already purchased MC for better purchases.

Cant see myself spending real money for a color I can only use once on one mech either. Charge me to unlock a pallet or buy a color I can now use on all my mechs or charge me a whole lot less to paint my mech.

I agree with the OP on the added zero. Maybe the extra zero is a bug and they haven't patched it out yet? Maybe they actually think these things are worth this much?

There is a reason I have not spent a dime yet. This is not because there is nothing I would enjoy having, but at the current price model there is nothing I am willing to spend the current asking prices to obtain.

I know probably lots of people would enjoy buying up all the hero mechs, getting mech bays, etc. But at the current prices this is pretty much impossible.

Some may think that it would be unfair to change prices now, after some have already spent real money on their items. But here is an easy fix, simply refund the person the amount of mech credits the price change would have saved them, and they will end up spending those same credits on other things. This means that nobody loses anything, prices can be dropped, and larger amounts of sales can be accomplished through the lower price points.

As I gaze upon the varied collection of festive lights, wreaths, and holiday themed bobble-heads, I am compelled to wonder...

WHY THE HELL CAN'T I PAINT MY FRACKING HUNCHBACKS?????

I bought some real xmas lights for my computer room, same style as in game price 6.48USD, there were ones there for 2.50 USD. They have an electronic item priced at more than what it costs IRL.

I posted another thread on this, pointing out that i was in no shape or form a "space poor" not going to bother with it here as any firearm pics on the interwebs devolves into OMG ZOMBIES or OMG WHY YOU NEED THOSE? (the fact that I don't need any of them was the entire point BTW)

I'm not spending money on cosmetic items be it camo paint, lights, or dice until the prices come down drastically. Especially seeing as how I'm the only one looking at them.

absolute stupidity to charge that much MC for decorative items . . . i could see the WHOLE package costing 5$. . . but 6$ a pop or higher . . . someone has lost their mind. People already think PGI is on a money grab for the bail, then you do this?????? Seriously, you guys got a room with a cot, a fridge and access to a shower / bathroom . . . i'll come up for food, room and access to the project management team so this mess can get straight, cause this type of stuff makes me wonder><

You wanna buy a pet in WoW...$10. So these are not outrageous. The difference is the pet can be used on all characters. This stuff is 1 mech at a time.

You know you can move these items from 'Mech to 'Mech don't you?

well apart from the ridiculous pricing these holliday items are really ugly and kitschy.

also i would feel awkward if someone would see me piloting my mech and have a 6$ decorative item on it.

If these things were $2-3 bucks i'd be spending money like an *****. I'm not paying for $6 for it.

Also when did mech bays go from 250 to 300 mc? I know PGI needs to make money, but i think smaller costs will make more people think less and just purchase stuff.

Mechbays have always been 300 MC. Those aren't really nasty, considering what you get for it.

It's rather telling the only thing I recall buying other than mech bays is the dropship. At 250 MC it's priced low enough it's an impulse buy. And I always like scale models of stuff. :(

Unfortunately, the new stuff is between 2-5x that price, which I am completely unable to justify to myself paying for. And that is probably a recurring issue with a lot of the player base.

Likewise, I find the current paint prices too high for how they work. I want my own livery and I'm sort of waiting to figure out what I want as one, but with the prices as they are I'd quickly go through all my MC to paint mechs ... quite ridiculous when a paintjob costs more than a Jenner.

I was hoping to buy one of those items. Then relized how much it costs. Even during Beta and a holiday. Still money focused. Could have dropped one of the 0 and said thanks for being in beta and happy holidays. The lump of coal should be free. Sadly it changed my focus on buying other stuff.

I was going to buy some booble heads but not for those prices.

Infact, I don't think I will be spending any money on this game until the micro transactions actually become micro and not macro!

expensive worthless crappy bling that shouldn't be added till you work out the bugs already present. maybe you also might want to watch:

Good find! It really captures the essence of how I feel about the IGP/PGI pricing model.

I saw this had been created after a mod posted in a different thread and locked it. I already posted a reply in that thread, so I'll just copy and paste a snippit of it here.

Quote

Personally I think I could handle 15 bucks max for a Christmas/Holiday/Season bundle/pack. Similar to how Team Fortress 2 sells packages, and gives you a discount if you buy the whole pack instead of individual items. It's just too much to have an item that's 1/4 the cost of a hero mech.

Some folks may find the 15 bucks to be too much, but for me that's the maximum. Ideally $10 is a good range. I expect to have to pay more for mechs and useful things... just not for decorations.

I am also refusing to to purchase more MC until / when / if they follow a micro-transaction economy. If MWO goes live without this particular issue addressed, then I am willing to bet a handful of strategists lose their jobs when the numbers aren't lining up in their favor.

MC costs need a major re-balance and it's simple to fix: Don't spend MC...
