After months of getting beat up by LRMs and Streak SRMs, now I get to watch them flail around uselessly!!

Meh only hurts those that relied on cheese builds....

or rockets in general... they basically removed them from the game... it's funny for the ECM user but stupid for anyone who invested in rocket heavy builds or even an CPTL-A1. (which could be removed from the game right now since it's only 65tons of scrapmetal)...

Won't really affect standard SRM's.. 6xSRM6 is still a decent whallop, I would think.

SRM6 builds are still deadly.

Confirming that it is impossible to put regular srms on an A1.

I think the ECM changes the way battles are done. Not just with LRMS etc. but...

Not only it makes target acquisition more difficult, it also forces players to think more about advancing and actually about using MORE different vision modes (atm mostly heat vision) than before. It helps now greatly with seeking the enemy, since you cannot trust your targetting computer 100% anymore, so back to the good old eyeballs & heat vision. Truly great addition.

Remember. Not every Mech can equip ECM, which I think is great. Now there're some mech that can toe to toe with a streak cat. Before, streak cats are simply general purpose no aiming mech, now streak cat pilots will have some challenge when they're being chased by lights with ECM

Well of course PGI's ECM ruined locking missiles. That's why ECM isn't like that in Battletech.

ECM is great, matches now require team work, even more so if you want to run LRM's, and with it, we have returned to close range brawls.

then you haven't run into much of the way of good pilots, my hunchie can 1v2 streak kitties and win at least half the time. dearm one then the other. 55 damage alpha is most of one arm. 4 salvos to dearm you. 4 to dearm the other.

the SRM6 spread is terrible... no aim helps if half your rockets decide to visit china

that is indeed true, but most people tend to ignore the little streakcat thats ripping them apart.

then run srm 4s with artemis, ammo is more expensive, but otherwise it is identical weight and crit wise to srm6s plus more accurate for 30 less damage

or even better run 2 srm 6 4 ssrm 2s. you can hurt mechs with ecm with the 6s, while being able to hit much harder on non-ecm mechs with both the 6s and ssrm 2s.

Its all good, but how about to balance the teams by ECM factor ? I've played a couple of matches so far, and only one team has ECM mech all the time.

The amount of ECM's has been pretty balanced for me so far, however I am noticing they are nearly all Ravens (myself included)
