I agree that the netcode is totally screwed and the match making is totally wrong for 8v8. Our team played for about 6 hours last night as an 8 man premade and it was a night full of frustration to say the least. Every single drop with the exception of 1 or 2 was against teams of 3 ECM streak ravens and the rest assaults mostly other ECM atlas mechs. The ECM raven is all but impossible to kill. The lag armor they have is outrageous and the inability to hit them with only weapon that will cause close to correct damage, streaks, unless you also have ECM or enough team ECM to cancel out theirs, makes them pretty much invincible and very OP in my opinion.

I believe ECM does WAY to much for what it weighs/cost. And the fact only few mechs can use it is total BS. At least one mech needs to be able to carry ECM that can actually keep up with targeting a super fast raven to counter it. As it is now we are forced to either run 3 ECM raven in every drop or just lose guaranteed. If they would at least take damage correctly when hit with direct fire weapons it would be somewhat balanced. All night I was repeatedly hitting ravens right on the nose with dual gauss rifles and doing almost no damage.

Sorry I count this as a troll post. You did not do it yourself and you can not know what tactic the other team tried and how they did it, or what problem they had. Or did you speak with the other team afterwards?

FYI,
You can pretty well tell the tactic a team is using by defending v them. Seriously it's not rocket science, it's combat.

It has nothing to do with ECM, it has to do with the gamemode. In the current assualt game mode, sticking in mass group will always be the best (because a large group beats a smaller group, duh). And since allready positioned mechs have a huge advantage to mechs that have yet to position, the only reasonable competitive option there ever is is standing together in base, camping. Doing anything else would just be silly as you would give your opponents a huge advantage.
The entire concept of the assualt gamemode makes absolutely no sense at all from a competitive point of view.

Why do I even bother (okay I know I love battletech/mechwarrior too much) but reading most comments I feel like you guys are not thinking about the real problem but just feeling great in beeing able to handle ECM at the moment and bulling other who seem not able to do so. Where do you think this is going?

Also I dont think anyone of you actually read my analysis of the problem. Maybe to much text anyway. If you dare do it here:
