Following the creation of the Free Rasalhague Republic in 3034, other regions quickly took up on this opportunity to push for their own independence. Skye was one such region. Hanse Davion responded to the mass demonstrations with force, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilian protesters in what became known as the First Skye Rebellion. Order was restored after Ryan Steiner scored a major political coup by negotiating peace with the Free Skye movement behind the struggle. (As a side note, it's only called the "First" Skye Rebellion because there is a second one coming in 3056. But we wouldn't know that!)
