phase 2 of community warfare was implemented and most premades should be moving to 8v8 non PUG drops
there will still be some 4 man premades in PUG drops but I doubt they will be any where near the number they have been recently

hopefully it improves as you play more matches
I have been playing PUGs for a couple days now and didnt have much of a problem with 4 man groups, they can be pretty efficient but theyre still easy to pick apart as well

There are a dozen different factors that may cause / contribute to that effect. Someone may have taken up an impromptu leadership position and presented a tactical advantage, they may have luckily dropped with mechs more optimized for the range of engagement, the other team may have custom mechs while your team had 3 trials, etc.
(please note all of these are indifferent to your individual skill)
The matchmaker needs work, everyone knows that (including PGI, hence Phase II implementation today) but it takes time. If you do not have that kind of patience, please come back in Feb. or so. We'll be here.

Unfortunately as of today it's pretty unlikely that your lopsided matches are due to premade groups...likely your team was just outplayed. Happens to all of us for sure, I've been on both sides of plenty of lopsided matches...

Now that we've got our 8-mans back, you're seeing even less premades as they have moved on to what they have been dying to get back to the last month or so. Get some skill please. Learn to carry.

and I was so waiting to see them continue to blame the premade boogieman.
Now mind you, I have been dropping as a PUG all evening, and have, out of 20+ drops been able to confirm dropping WITH 2 4 mans, one very open, the other a bunch of douches that trumped their unit, then refused to communicate and coordinate.
As for against, I would say very few. Running a better than 50% win rate (barely) and have been keeping on the plus side in kills. Sounds to me, tbh, that maybe you just are not very good? Because I know I am middle of the road, and not having any real issues.

They Cry about premades...
They Cry about weapon balance...
I am surprised that they dont cry about the rest of their teams inability to read their mind and do exactly what they want them to.
This is a team game pure and simple... you dont see PUG foot ball teams on TV.
If you are not grouped in this game... I dont know why you expect to win. I mean really... we are taking on the mantle of House and or merc UNITS. Not a rag tag milita.
People need to grow up.
