You guys are pretty much making the point that if he runs pug ecm has killed his playing style.

to quote Homer, "DOH"!
mixing it up in close combat is not an option for me right now, my fps is too low. So I maybe on the sidelines for a while :P

There's still plenty of mechs without ecms on the field. :) Target those. :)

You are a broken record, making the same suggestion over, and over, when you -know- it is wrong. To sum up, you cannot target enemy mechs inside an ECM field, regardless of if they generate the ECM or not, and if you are inside an enemy ECM field, you can target nothing at all.

To sum up to the OP, yes. Your LRMs are useless now. LRMs are indirect fire support weapons, and the devs have effectively removed that from the game. You cannot target anything in an ECM field outside of 200m, or inside 180m, and your LRMs will not lock (let alone reach the target) in 20m. Further, your ability to TAG will not allow you to lock and guide your missiles due to the loss of LOS and total effective time TAG operates, as well as that ECM shuts down any TAG inside it's effect.

I've been running 2xLRM15 and 2xSRM6 on my A1 and I'm getting more kills today than I was with my streakcat the last three days (thought I'd try out the cheese). Even with ECM groups, people often break off from the group and still get owned. Been getting 2-4 kills on most maps today it seems. It's my first time using an LRM build and only running it to get basic variant unlocks, and it was pretty easy mode. Can't imagine how easy it was before ECM.

One round I asked for spotters and was told LRMs were useless. I ended up with the highest damage on our team and we won.

Hmm! Ran three matches with my LRM Cat A1 had 2 streaks on as well. Other side had heavy ECM and darn I with the help of the rest of the team was able to achieve 4 kills per match. Only time I goofed was when I RTBed alone and they had ECM. I was just a walking target as I could not lock on cappers. Oh well live and learn. Still 16 kills in 3 games with the new ECM rules - - well I think I was just lucky to have good team mates.

I'd say extraordinary luck, as all the PUGs I have been on barely know how to use the throttle, let alone fight. Teamwork is an alien concept in every PUG I have ever been in, and it's pretty obvious your opponents were typical PUGgers. Otherwise, you never would have landed a shot.
