ECM Tactics

Been playing a couple of pug/pub games today, while still buidling our MWO division up, I guess I have been spoilt playing with people who agree the tactics before hand and don't change their minds during the map.

Yes, we all know Ecms were released today and yes practically everyone now has to have an ECM right?

Wrong, not everyone has them and not everyone needs them. Brawlers in front, yes.

LRMS behind no. Because brawlers are there to soak up the dmg and fight in close range they need the ecms to delay lock on time so people cannot launch on them.

The popular tactic now seems to be all rush, including the boats...

Duh!

ECM does not mean defensive tactics no longer work, nor does it mean you have to leave your slower mechs with no defense.

It simply means you wait until the enemy show up and defend as usual.

8 Man advice

WIth the release of the latest patch they have brought back 8 man groups, however what people have not really considered is that its not quite the same as it used to be, its not 8 random players, its 8 people in a premade following orders, likely a guild group.

If you are an unguilded, lonewolf I suggest going in 4 man groups, because if you go in 8 man random pugs you will be running up against premades, where they actually consider what the builds are before they go into battle, they consider what tactics to use and they use mechs according to roles not according to noob tactics lets all rush.

Firstly I am this faction because I like green, that does not automatically make me a noob

Secondly I joined TAW yesterday and they are an awesome clan, but thats not what this post is about.

I don't play a missile boat I play a Trial Mech and its like Fides says, since the patch was released all the pubbies ever wanna do is rush, seriously, it gets really tiresome being the last mech standing because the rest of you noobs left my slow *** mech behind.
