I've only played half a dozen times, but I'd rather play against streak cats than ECMs.

Learn to adapt. Use your team as your advantage. Don't just run with all LRMs.

the only thing that ECM hurts are mechs that relied on cheese builds such as mass LRM boats and Streakboats. Those with direct fire weapons are uneffected and some very smart and talented LRM boat pilots have already adapted by dumbfiring LRMs at non moving targets and are still doing amazing damage. A good team will mount TAG to aid these LRM boats even more

ECM adds so much tactical depth to the game, I can't even begin to go into how much I like it. You actually have to visually find your enemy now. Scouts are now actually useful for scouting. A++++ would patch again.

Wait till you see a Streakcat backed up by an ECM Raven...they call it "Teamwork".

You must not be running a light mech then. Running a streakcat was like shooting lightmech skeat.

The killer tag team is now Atlas with ecm and streak cat. Maybe add a raven or two for countering.

It isn't really a matter of adjusting--it is a matter of disliking how the game with ECMs in it. The ECM ***** the style of play I like, as the game is now...I may as well play any other shooter out there....that doesn't have all the issues that this one has.

No I don't play LRM boats or Streak cats. I like running a K2 with Dual AC/20s.

Sounds like a great set-up to use against ECM, sit back, hit the Thermal Vision and snipe away. I'm not seeing the problem.

sit back

Sitting back is the anthesis of my playstyle, I don't play the game to sit and wait....that is the opposite of playing.

I bought a CPLT A1 about 3 days ago, tried the streakcat and honestly I wasn't that great with it, I did far far better on my K2 using 4 ML and an AC20 or a Gauss. Today was the first time I tried 2 LRM15s and 2 SRM6s on it, I was getting between 2-4 kills most matches and topping charts for damage for a lot of maps. If it's this easy with people using ECMs I can't imagine how easy mode it was before.

Well, SOMETHING should be able to hit them, don't you think?

I never really had huge issues with hitting lights with my AC20s, you just have to be smart about when you shoot.

2 things,
1. you don't snipe with ac20s
2. ECM shouldn't be hruting you as much as you appear to be claiming it is if you're really running a smackapult.

what he said. i don't see the problem either.

all ecm does is take away auto aimming. weapons such as lasers, autocannons, and manual aimming srm players are unaffected. it now puts the skills into the driver seat and you can use a multitude of weapons still. just don't expect to do soo well now if you can't aim.

The problem is players like this. They have a set play style and a niche mech that was owning the battlefield before. Someone comes along and makes that niche mech unable to dominate as it did before - and that play style incapable of owning everyone and everything .... And people freak out "O M G game sucks naow gunna quit bai".

you would rather fight a streak cat than against something that has no effect on direct fire weapons?

Someone obviously hasnt played a support boat before.

Cause I can tell you, it is ever so much fun having a couple of atlas' in your line of sight about 400 meters off and being unable to lock them at all.

There is a difference between complaining because you cant own everything and complaining because you cant do jack ****. Please learn the difference between those two.
