This man knows what he's talking about. I know it won't happen... but I'd love to see a Jenner with chicken legs.

Not great but the theory works. (Loose is still best they ever had.)

Haha! Nice ;)
And I agree about Loose. 3025 was the best TR they ever did, with all it's little roleplay asides and anecdotes.

I like spider-based Quad legs personally.

Personaly I prefer humanoid mechs. Of the mechs released so far I will probably choose a centurion as my first ride. Sadly still wishing for a Thunderbolt but updated properly an Orion will be fine

Most of my favorite mechs to play are humanoid. When i think about giant robots of death i see humanoid mechs. Although i do like some of the avian designs alot.

Definitely going with the chicken legs. After all, 99% of my favourite 'Mechs have 'em! When it comes to 'Mechs in general, I prefer a more "alien" design, or at least something that doesn't look too humanoid. The only exception to that is the Atlas; I just love using that thing.

Well ignoring quadrupeds, i probably like more chicken walkers than Humanoid (there are exceptions like the Vulcan (i <3 it cause its pretty weird looking), im still waiting for the poll option: quadrupeds

avian.... becose it moves more and its harder to hit them.Totaly not important but theoreticaly if mechs were real, those Digitigrade would absorb shock from impact after falling like from JJ jump best, same like cats can survive extreme falls

I dont like any humanoid design too much, why I dont like Atlas

quadrupeds have humanoid legs except theres four of them and torso is positioned like if you were standing but layd your back on table

The foot actuator connects to the Myonmar
The Myonmars connected to the knee actuator
That actuator is connected to more myonmar
More myonmars connected to the hip cap
And that's how 'mechs can walk!

Show 'em Cattie!

I recall reading that Avian legs have a higher speed on flat land but more trouble with slopes.
Humanoid legs are better suite to abrupt up and downs.

I don't like legs, I like mechs. Humanoid legs of the Summoner, chicken legs of the Timberwolf and digitigrade ones of the aforementioned Novacat -- any legset could be awesome if it's a part of an awesome mech.

Pretty good tl;dr on digitigrade and walking styles --
http://en.wikipedia....iki/Digitigrade
Poll might have been better optioned as Single, Reverse, Double

I have to go with some on here; really depends on the whole thing.
Bipedal, upright legs generally carry weight and recoil easy. Good for solid, beefy, or versatile designs (imposing Atlas mentioned upthread)
Reverse jointed really only helps with shifting center of gravity or 'launching' motions (like leaping forward or upward as the knees not in way so you can lean further forward). Still, it looks really good on some like the Vulture and the new Raven done by FD.
Double jointed (and digitigrade) gives more range of motion and shock absorption. Really good for higher speeds and landing of course. The original Cicada being more akin to digitigrade and Uziel being an obvious Double.

I prefer mobility most times so designs not using standard single joint 'humanoid' plantigrade tend to be my favorites. Catapult being one of my first faves.
