You saw 8 trial hunchies? Really so that Founders cat bounding around in the first video was a figment of my imagination? they only took 4 trial hunchies, and even I will admit the trial hunchback is a decent mech aside from the K2 its the best trial mech so far.

Watch the second video, only one of them is piloting a trial awesome if you can't figure out how I know that I can't help you.

The fact that only one of them took the REAL noobcake oven and was bodygaurded by three customs tells me all I need to know.

This is a perfect example of whats wrong with this player base, rabid fanbois (and girls) that will lie and distort to defend a broken system.

I only watched first video, and then wasn't paying to close attention. Must have missed the catapult, most of the video was only the four hunchbacks.

Either way, I went through the same grind with the trials as every other free2play player, and never had any of these ridiculous problems people claim. Was able to maintain a over a 2 k/d and near top damage in most matches, and while I agree they do run a bit hot, it was really never an issue to manage it.

The videos were not of an 8 player team, but of a 4 player team in PUG games. Basically EZ-mode.

Not to mention that the trial awesome in the second video killed two trial awesome one of whom never even fired his guns, then ran into two customs while in a 4 man pack and nearly died inside of 20 seconds. If you watch closely both of the ones he killed are confirmed trials one with 0 and one with 77 damage both with 0 exp.

Grats NGNG you proved that you can stomp people dropping into their first match in a trial mech with the same trial mech+3 customs and voice coms.

WOW I am SOOOO impressed.

Yes. A million times yes.

Even better - provide detailed information on your matches. If people provided us their exact team composition (and kept it constant), and took a screenshot of each match's final scoreboard, we'd have a reasonable data pool, provided they were willing to do it for a lot of matches.

Then we can look at the data and see if Trial Mechs are as bad as we think they are. If so, we can hand it to PGI and say 'no, it's not that Trial Mech players are going up against more experienced players, it's because Trial Mechs are bad'.

8 v 8 matchmaking is the best way to control for skill differences. Obviously it's not perfect as not every 8 v 8 team is as skilled as each other, but there's less of a skill gap than in your average public match.

Here's an idea for those who want to go the extra mile: Drop in Trial Mechs for a few matches, then switch to customised versions of the same mechs, and see if there's a change in the data. If people were to record their results in both Trial Mechs and customised mechs, we'd have even more control over player skill level.

I know a lot of people will not want to do this, because you're going to have to pilot them for more than a few matches; you might suck for the first few matches because you're not used to the chassis, and we need to account for that.

For science!

Yep, just saying "I get kills in trial mechs so they're fine" is pretty meaningless. You have to compare your kill rate in trials to your kill rate in customized mechs. Of course, you could just be really bad at building mechs too, if you do better in trials than customs :)
