Nice job, but you failed to include the original Sarna backed Tesla pod footage or the improved Firestorm package still in operation at the remaining pod clusters.

Having played at the local pods recently, I can say the Firestorm update is really just MW4. Quite literally: I saw the server interface screen running, and it is MW4 adapted to the pod hardware. No real need to show it, as it would look the exact same.

I can't remember what the pods looked like before - it has been too long!

MWO has already taken MW3's crown for me.

MW2 my hook into PC gaming... Damn you Activision. Mercenaries was the best of the three. On a personal brag note, I have a sealed copy of the titanium edition (with T-Shirt!.. hopefully :() and the Playstation version.

MW3 is the best game of the series for feel and environmental immersion. You felt more like a pilot in that game, your Mech existed in the world, it worked to get up, its ankles adjusted to the ground, cockpit glass cracked, trees fell and people were squished. It retained the Tabletop system so you had complete control over your machine. The missions may not have been top notch (especially by todays standards) but it was a huge improvement over the mission to mission style of the MW2 (solo capable, cold & machine like... so kudos for nailing the clan theme ).

MW4 was... Microsoft mass marketing. Credit for being accessible I guess. Thank God for Mektek though.

MWLL, I could only tinker with and not get online to play multiplayer.

I won't comment on MWO cause its still in "Beta" :eyeroll:

My Ultimate Mechwarrior game would be a remix of the Mechwarrior 2 game, using the Mechwarrior Online engine (including art <3 the redesigns) with all the attention to environmental detail of Mechwarrior 3. Yeah it wouldn't be anything new, but to have that feel with the current visuals and the higher level of world immersion...

i like how they had knockdowns in 1989... maybe soon they can be implemented in 2012-2013

In fairness, that was a single player game that did not have to calculate collision physics from multiple clients while factoring netlag.

My final vision for MWO is Mechwarrior 2 Mercs but with an online persistent world.

MW2 Mercs was, and is, for me, the best Mechwarrior game so far (barring MWO which is still in beta, so I withhold further judgement).

And its not rose tinted glasses, either. I play that game regularly using DosBox. Its a blast, although it does have its share of issues (Autocannon bug, mechs being gunbags, etc). Its the atmosphere that it creates that is still unrivaled. Taking contracts, getting betrayed, getting the ****** end of the stick when the Clans finally invade, breaking out of prison, fighting huge battles in the war, etc.

Amazing game.

Someone awesome (who is probably an active member of these here forums) made a kick-*** MechWarrior video showcasing it's evolution, just thought some of you might like to see it.

If the author pops in: nice work and thanks!

*EDIT* Well I can't figure out how to embed it here, so for now just use the external mirror, or athlons link below lol

It's beautiful.

No MPBT Solaris by Kesmai or MPBT 3025 by EA? What about Mech Assault? You can't just pretend it didn't exist. I am disappointed.

Edit: Perhaps it is because those games did not have "Mechwarrior" in the title? I will give the creator the benefit of the doubt and assume that.

MW 3 was the best in my opinion, of the older games that is. MWO is my first online mech game, so I can't comment on that part. the video does throw into sharp relief how far the game has come.

Yeah, despite the minor ( and the not so minor know faults) I love playing this game.

That, but mostly because I only made use of the stuff I owned or was immediately available to me, and it's all my own footage (except for 2 seconds of MWLL and MWO). If I owned all the expansions, had a tesla pod, and a copy of every other Battletech related related video game I'd have put all of them in.

Most terrifying mech - MW1 Blocky Marauder.
Most enjoyed game (by me) MW2
Best looking Game (imho) MW4: Mercs

Good vid - now please make a longer one with all the expansions in it ^^
