But when we're talking about Effects that damage enemies you really have to draw the line with Air Strikes/Artillery. The way you've described coolant working should NEVER apply to damaging effects.
Everything else we get upset about this game be damned..... I ask you not to implement the items this way.
1. Making the MC version be better is a slippery slope. It opens the door to the proverbial Gold Laser.
2. People in 8 man groups must now carry 2 specific consumables.... air strike and artillery. That's garbage. Where did all the diversity go? You threw it out the door. No more advanced zoom or 360 module (not that they worked well enough for us to use them anyway).
3. I suggest IF you want to make a MC version and a CB version that you make the MC version permanent. Make it cost 500-1000 MC whatever. AND make it equal to the other version. This would remove the outrage of P2W. All you would be doing is make the player spend $$$ to save on CB. That is perfectly acceptable (and we've been doing it since closed beta to buy an Atlas K to get a free 300XL engine).
Let's say for example both strikes cost 100k when used together. That's going to add up when you use them in a match. This gives free players the same power but they can't support the feature if they want to make significant earnings. Meanwhile the player who buys them with MC would have the SAME power.... it would just cost a one time MC fee.
To this day MC is a time saving measure..... not a power increasing tool. Please do not change this dynamic. It's just one reason why MANY of us quit world of tanks.

Sure, you can make the argument that the two are the same, but one takes two module slots. Oh sure, it gives you greater control, but if we're also getting into the territory of artillery and whatnot, then paying MC would let you, for instance, have arty and tier 3 coolant flush on a 2 module mech, whereas you could not possibly reach that wihout paying MC.
Oh, and don't forget that single module slot mechs are screwed.
On those mechs, you either pay MC or you get shafted.
Thanks, PGI.

overall, however, I am fine with them being added to the game.
They are based n battletech lore and they may be a good measure to defend yourself in case of a basecap by light mechs, when your main force is too far awy to go back in time, or to break a stalemate when one force has entrenched itself on a strategic position

Not flushes... flush. Singular. A C-bill Flush will be dual-use.

End result is, C-bill version takes 2 slots to do the same thing as the MC version. Your mechs heatsinks don't factor into that discussion.

Thanks, with that maybe I can stop being depressed about recent developments and maybe get some good ol' full MAD now.

I'm really trying to understand how a one-use 35% pod for real money (MC) is better than a dual-use 20% pod for fake money (C-bills).
MC uses 1(one) module slot. It does the same for less space. What is there not to understand about it?

It's clear that PGI intends this to be a C-bill sink, as well as a huge boost to wallet warriors.

It isn't wringing, it is an actual legitimate concern.
I can fit 16 DHS on my Atlas D-DC with the build I use.
Now assume a 3.5% increase per heatsink because that appears to be what the math is.
Now also keep in mind that the D-DC has four module slots.
This mean I can toss in both CBill Coolant Flush and some extra goodies, plus ECM of course on the Mech.
And now because of this plan of theirs, two times per match I can just hit a button and 56% of my heat will evaporate.
Why in god's name would no one see a problem with this?

Because you can't use the 20% version twice. You can use the level 1 once and the level 2 once.
That's not how I read it. See above.

At first I was like you all (OMG, they broke Mechwarrior), but I suddenly became with an idea of how they would introduce it (before they made the CC post).
In-Game Consumable Perma Module.
This means, a GXP Skill that demands 20.000 GXP/30.000 GXP
After that u just have to buy a "coolant" or "whatever" module that costs 3,5 M C-BILL for that mech.
This module can be used on every game once or twice, and never depletes, which means
YOU PAY, YOU HAVE IT FOREVER FOR THAT MECH.
PROS:
- Enough grind to people lazy to farm to buy it with MC.
- No P2W module hardpoints (See Catapult K-2 1 module as an example).
CONS:
- People with no time or resources will take a long time to get at it.
This is what i thought they would make at first, i saw i was wrong later.
Tell me your opinions
EDIT: Just saw someone with the same idea, sorry for double post

You know why no one will take that?
Because they'll be able to put even more crazy consumables in there instead, like freaking artillery strikes.
So don't worry, no one will use that broken aspect of the game, since other consumables will be even more broken.
Hey, I'm usually not one to jump on the "OMG SKY IS FALLING" bandwagon, but damned if this doesn't look pretty freaking messed up.
