The current yellow for closed is a bit too like the green for open.
I often have to toggle it to make sure whether the doors are open or closed.

Either that,or have two lights, one for closed and one for open, each with a little icon.

I agree on this. I don't quite comprehend their reasoning for making the on/off indicator so difficult to read, but I do hope that they switch it to on/off instead pale yellow/pale green.

For the Catapult, it's on the windshield struts on both the left and right sides.

I have never seen this light so I usually have no clue if my cat doors are open or closed.

In the centurion, the light is at the bottom of the left windshield bar. You can see it change color when you toggle the missile doors, but the "on" is so similar to the "off" that you have to be looking directly at it to notice the difference.

I'd personally much prefer if they just dropped this mechanic it is fairly uninterested and adds nothing besides annoyance to the game.

Yes, but if you are running a 16*10 resolution, or something with a higher vertical ratio than 16:9 you need to use free look to check.

Oh noes!

Once again we agree. Missile doors was an interesting idea that doesn't pan out in game, due to the extra delay.

... For what it's worth, every time I hop into a catapult I absolutely DELIGHT in the missile doors.

But I agree, the indicator needs changing. Ideally to a three state panel with icons, and ideally in clashing colours -- red for destroyed is good, but maybe green/purple? Blue and yellow? Something. Or maybe, only have the light on when the doors are open?
