I haven't managed to play much since the patch but can someone amswer a question about Tag V ECM please.

As i think i understand the patch notes, a scout using Tag can get a lock for LRM if the scout is outside the ECM radius of effect even if the mech being Tagged is inside the ECM effect?

In my mind ECM effects radar but Tag is optical and should be immune to the effects of ECM, but the scout has to transmit the data to it's team for LRM lock so the scout has to be outside the ECM radius.

you are correct... the tagger needs to be >180m from the target who is inside ECM

TAG is also due a range buff from 450m to anything up to 750m, possibly in the next patch

Yes, the Tag is optical and the target-sharing is signal.

If you are outside the 180m area of effect ,your tag works as intended. If you are inside the 180, the tag itself still lights up but your targetting and relay systems are FUBAR'd so the tag becomes moot.
