Hi All!
I have been around a while but I cant really understand what the "Firepower" stat in the mechlab represents. Is it dps? Is it a flat firepower before heat? I am just curious because it only roughly match performance. For example my artimus LRM 15x2 Catapult-c has 74 whereas my brawler Cataphrach 2x has 50. While the Cataphrach just melts so much more face. How does this work?

It represents the damage-output of all your guns > That means, if you fire every weapon and every projectile hits a target, you've done xy-amount of damage to it. Not every LRM hits the target, but theoretical it does (in your case) 74dmg. Hope this helps you a bit.

Ah ok thanks for that explanation. The raw damage off each weapon makes sense. So a theoretical alpha strike. Now Ill need to find a decent DPS calculator for my autocannons.

Ohm's guide could help you to calculate the dps > http://mwomercs.com/...s-excel-inside/

The Excel Mechlab by 3rd world also has such tools, IIRC. http://mwomercs.com/...6-updated-1204/

I've also get a DPS/heat efficiency calculator that you can use in Google Docs (so no need to have Excel), but it's much more primitive.

Good question and you got excellent answers. Can't really help you more but keep asking questions and GL/HF.
