So, I had great fun taking advantage of the possibilities of 2 arm and 1 torso ballistic hardpoints, but the XL engine absolutely takes away the 30% C-Bill bonus unlesss I didn't recieve so much as a feather dusting of enemy fire. Sold the XL replaced it with a standard 280 put 3 Large pulse lasers, filled the rest with heat sinks, 1.29 heat efficiency, played with it once so far, I think it does pretty well, I'm going to expirement with 3x ERPPC, and 3x ERLL. All theoretically apply 30 damage at once(sort of)... Really liked how the Large pulse performed on the test run, and no XL and No ammo make for cheaper farming.

Sure, I've done all-laser Muromets myself. It's not ineffective, though you definitely want "big guns". I've seen PPC + 2 LPL, triple LL or LPL, even a pair of ER PPCs with a medium pulse on the arm.

DHS are a must, naturally.

Triple large pulse Muromets? Standard engine?

That'll be a real money maker

I tried making one, but with 3xERPPCs and DHS, I had like 4 tons left over and didn't feel like spending cbills on a new bigger engine, so canceled it. For now I'm just sticking with my 2xAC10 and 3xML build. Seems to do well against the swarms of commandos and ravens currently buzzing about every match.

Also, I never repair a XL engine. Makes it a bit micromanagey to repair all items except that, but saving $42k per death is worth it, imo.

i prefer the triple-LL version, with a STD 315 engine and 1.5 heat-efficiency.

Alpha strike all day !

I have DHS, so I'm wondering if I go up a size or two in engine if I'll get the tonnage back in extra heatsinks IN the engine

....lol, I guess that answers my question about bigger engine to get better efficiency

Engine rating:tonnage charts

+1 heatsink (or +1 heatsink slot) per 25 rating

If you're after an energy heavy variant cataphract, perhaps try the 1X. I've been running a 3XER PPC build in one (probably not the best build, but certainly fun to try). Doesn't quite have the farming capacity of the Muromets, but theres something to be said for those arm mounts.

Does anyone else think that the muromet seems like it's 'squishy?'

I have a 3 PPC build that is pretty heat efficient, and a 3 PPC and 1 Gauss (i know, non-projectile thread), but I had to mention it, 45 points (kaboooom).
