Wonder if they will have the WoT system...where you can buy a "premium" account to get a bit of a higher reward at the end of matches.

I would expect a cash store item to give you an increased percentage of c-bill rewards per win for a small number of matches.

Many FTP games have these, including the 'good model' FTP that strictly don't let you 'buy power'. I don't know how well XP or currency boosts sell in other games, but I would be surprised if MWO did not include some.

I woudl be fine with that, but the droves of people who want this game to be free with each and every benefit and no income for the producing company would be up in arms.

I think they should do it anyways.

If there are premium options they better have some form of impact.

With today's impatient generation (of which I am also a client), if you just fade my camera to black or remove me from watching the rest of the game, chances are I'll leave the server immediately after that too rather than stay for more games.

People need to be entertained, and the quickest way of doing it is to allow them to spec friendly (from 1st person view) That way, the player could not provide information to any teammate externally that the players wouldn't already know.

I chose friendly spectator mode as it will give new players a good way to learn from watching what works and what doesn't after they are out of the fight. That was how I learned in WoT when I started that game and I imagine many new players would want to learn MWO with a similar system.

Sure players could relay info to team after being taken out but since both sides would have the option it's self balancing as long as players are still able to type in team chat vs not being able to type which then favors 3rd party VOIP.

Agreed, other than team chat, I think once you have been disabled you can no longer chat or type to your team, only view them like in Counter Strike....

So long as the spectator is locked to only members of your own team and you have the same perspective (1st person) then that should work fine.

As long as ejecting has some kind of delay then it sounds like it would be fine to have it so it makes the repair costs slightly cheaper. But this can't come at the expense of using it to deny the enemy team the extra cbills/experience they would have gained from destroying you had you not ejected.

but when you eject is your mech still there and would it be possible for enemy to damage it more since it isnt truely destroyed? or is it removed and replaced by a static placeholder?

as for repair they should just do it the way it was done in table top..buy a ton of armor at whatever its cost to replace..modules and such can be based of percentage of damaged they received with total destruction costng 100%. so if some component cost 10000cbills and took 50% damage it may still would but would cost 5000 to return it to 100%.

What exactly does this accomplish other than aggravation? Seriously. In any sort of competitive situation, you *will* be on voice comms with your team, and able to talk / interact with them. Limiting their ability to type in game will be nothing more than an annoyance.

If this was to get featured, I think a good way to do this is once you reach a damage thresh hold, your mech gets disabled. Once that happens, you can A.) Stick it out. B.) Eject and fight it out with a gun. C.) Eject and run to another mech, and maybe be able to get in the other mech. Not like controlling it, just get inside the co-pilot's seat or passenger's seat. Also, if you choose not to eject, players can destroy your mech and kill you.
