Yea but the old threads start to smell after a while... I much prefer posting in a thread that's still got that new thread smell....

Not to mention that the QQ tears taste kind of flat and stale in the old threads, they are much more flavorful when fresh.

yes, threads here are locked or deleted at a ridiculous rate, on any pretext

if 10 people start 10 threads about missiles, all making separate points but all critical of PGI, 9 of them are locked, or even 10. but if you start 10 threads about how awesome PGI and MWO are, none are locked or deleted

i understand the need to keep the forum tidy and to delete threads that don't add anything, but numerous times i've been posting on a thread where everyone involved was making respectful posts and having a good conversation about something PGI would have found embarassing, and the thread gets locked

often we're directed to comment in another thread on a similar topic, almost always one with far fewer posts on it. in other words, negative threadnaughts are deleted in favor of negative baby threads, intentionally, instead of the other way around

another thing i've noticed is PGI reps on here posting in a confrontational or even harassing style towards other posters who make points they don't like. which i think is counter productive

i mean whatever, its their game but it just makes them look terrible. CCP does the same thing in EVE online and it makes them look terrible as well.

nah more likely they;ll get excited and accidentally delete an extra thread about something completely different in addition to all 10 lrm threads.

eta looks like PP is here to nuke this thread...

In light of how productive and informational this thread has become, I'll add a little more.

Many threads are being locked not just because of the increase in Moderation activity as mentioned earlier in this thread, but also due to a website techincal quirk - there are some HTML problems that get created when threads are merged; apparently, every time we merge threads it creats a small black hole that devours a microgalaxy somewhere just outside the visible microwave background. We have no way of knowing whether these microcosms are populated with life or are completely sterile, however in order to reduce the risk of destroying entire tiny civilizations with macro-steller phenomena we've decided to close the duplicate/unproductive threads while leaving behind links to the proper channels.

Often, you'll find that certain themes of threads are locked more rapidly than others, and this is frequently preformed due tot he content of the posted material, and not the overall-theme of the thread. It's not hard to imagine that a thread based on the theme of "The Developers are greedy and incompetent" will likely accumulate material that violates the Code of Conduct more rapidly than a thread based on the premise of "I like this game." It's common for people to join threads with a partcular mindset that can make them more/less likely to violate the terms of use simply because they read the thread title and became emotionaly engaged.

As mentioned before, there are staff messages posted regarding the MW:O Posting Etiquitte and why Moderation is Increasing lately that everyone can review. If anyone has questions regarding the Code of Conduct, or how/why it's being enforced, than I would encourage you to contact a member of the Moderating Team. Thanks for understanding.

I will now accelerate a pair of Uranium slugs to hypersonic velocities and smash them into eachother.
This thread is nuked (closed).
