Sup and welcome to my tutorial.
First things first: I would be pleased if you ignore the fact that my grammar etc. aren't perfect (not my lang. :))
If you are still reading this, thank you. I know what you are thinking "Wtf? Game can't be balanced.", but I say: Yes we can! Erms.. It is possible!
I'll post this as an numberation, kind of Q&A, let's start:

1# CPLT-A1 > The StreakCat. "Streaks are so op! Nerf nerf nerf! :D"
ECM killed streaks. Go cry somewhere else, or take'em out at range
2# CPLT-A1 > The SRM6-Cat. "SRM6 trollollolol 90dmg alpha. Nerf now!"
How about that: It isn't impossible to stay at a range of +275m learn movement!
3# CPLT-K2 > DualGaussi. "DualGauss is so OP!! Fix k2 now!"
So you are telling me you can't kill a k2-gausscat at cqb? Go play LoL.
Let us forget the fact(s) that you have to use a XL Engine that kills you if your
glass-cannon explodes, the fact that they sarcrified most of the mechs armor
AND have limited ammo.
4# CPLT-K2 > DualAC/20. "OMG even worse than gauss! NERF!"
Beside the fact that you are ******* me off, they are almost slower than an Atlas
and have less firepower than an 4MG-Build at range above 270m. Ammo is also
used pretty fast, so.... Just learn movement!
5# ECM > HugTheAtlasDevice "OMG so op 'QQ'"
Wow! You have to AIM YOUR WEAPONS! Thats so OP, this can't be real!
6# CTF-IM > Tri-Builds "Tripple Gauss, Trippel UAC/5. OP this is so P2W!"
Tri-Gauss > 45t of GR... OP.. Erms, yeah. Here is your lolly. Tri-UAC/5.. Jamming
cannons with high heat-generation and limited ammo..
Yeah, here is your second lolly <3
7# CTF-4X > Quad-AC/2-AC/5 "Rate of fire and damage is to op QQ nerf AC now!"
Quad-AC/5 is nice, but there are more versatile builds.. Quad-AC/2.. Cockpit is
shakeking? You never mentiond that only your cockpit is shakeing,
not your crosshair, right? Now take the earthquake like a mechwarrior
and not like a WoW-Nerd!
8# Lagshield > Godmode "Lagshield, fix netcode!!!!!!!"
Okay, thats a real problem. But for gods mercy, ****! The devs are aware about
that and your whine-threads (with cheese!) are known!
Btw. just use a laser and aim in the direction of the mech, slightly ahead and it's
fried. Also useable with ballastics. (Need a bit experience)
9# 3rd Person > ... oO .... "Yay, I can see my mech! / 3rd person ruins the game"
Hmkey, thats kinda weired I don't like the idea, either I hate it.
Maybe it's pretty cool or it'll be epicfail. Noone can say that for sure atm.
10# "I want a refund!" > Denied!"I want my money back cause [blubb]"
Okay, this is kinda hard to anwser, but I wouldn't be FromHell if I couldn't explain
this to you :
Nope. You should've knew whats coming up to you. Imma pretty sure thats
explained in the ToS! You can't use a product and call for a refund after month.
11# "OMG!!!" > You are an *****!"
Kinda rage I can see? Oh, this topic hurts you? Yeah, You denied your own mind
all the time. Eat this, you are a wannabe pro-gamer.
You can't handle the game, "new situations" and good players.
I'am not the best out there, with my K/D of 1.06 I wouldn't even dare to call
myself that. But I've encountered the same situations (almost)
and could handle them. Sooo... You have to options available:
Quit MWO, leave the forum and just vanish from our visors.
The second, recommended option, stay with us,
learn to play and then we'll see us on the battlefield. It's your choice...
12# Thread have been deleted "My thread has been deleted and I got striked"
Sorry dude, can't tell you something, never got in such a situation.
But Imma pretty sure I can tell you a workaround for that issiue as well.. After my
thread got deleted cause of trolls and QQ-OP-Nerf-kiddies :P

While you got the right tone for the major part.

There are still some points.
With DHS and Endosteel - you can make those Gaus or AC 20 Catapult faster or more durable.

When you say how easie it is to counter a specific mech build - you should still keep in mind that the other one don't have to be a fool.
A SRM 6er A1 knows about his maximum range and will stay in cover or choose a route that will allow him to have seldom ranges of 300m or above.
That a heavy mech with short range weapons only are so common is a problem of the maps...not of the mechs or the options to build them.

But at least you are right ... to say a SRM A1 build is OP is simple wrong.

There is technically no overpowered mech. Just underpowered engagement strategies. (No mech has no weakness).

(Thus my perpetual rants on giving up weapon balancing and spending more time on new features and bug fixes, etc.)

limited ammo on a gaussapult my holy left shoe.

I ran 100 rounds on my gaussapult when I had it. standard 225 endo 2 gauss rifles 100 ammo. you may end up at atlas speeds, but gaussapults don't have a need to move quickly.

Most ppl. use Dual-Gauss and 2-4MLas. My k2 had a XL240 Engine and 8t of ammo. Pretty fast for an suicide-machine. Well, the point that you don't need to move quickly with an gaussi is correct. Unti my HBK-4SP wants you dead x) 81kp/h I would get you faster than you mention x)
