Since so many people here are excited about Star Citizen/Squadron 42 thought many would also be interested in Elite 4/Elite Online which is called Elite: Dangerous. It is also on kickdtarter and being made by David Braben one of the co-creaters of the original Elite back in 1984.
For anyone who is not familiar with Elite it is the original space trading/combat/sandbox simulator game so if you have loved Wing Commander, Freelancer, Freespace, X-Wing etc. go check it out. It has been on kickstarter for a while but have not seen any other mention of it hear so:

Figures a pony would say something like that about a new Elite game.
What does username have to do with somebody's opinion?
Anyway, it looks...okay. My main issue with it seems to be that the kickstarter video hints to this new game having all these breakthrough concepts that have never been done before. Except they have. Even the main concept of getting a ship to trade, steal, pirate, etc. across the galaxy seems a lot like EVE, and while this new game "may" be an upgraded version of the original, I think EVE will be very hard to beat.

Looks kinda cool. I have vague memories of playing Elite at a friend's house as a kid.
Honestly though, the only kickstarter game that I am interested in at the moment is Neal Stephenson's project, "Clang." I won't link it here since I don't want to entirely derail your thread. Folks can find it on their own.
