Can we get a hunchback Variant that has the ability to install a larger engine.

Thanks!

I would like a hunchback that can sport an ECM so I can sneak up on someones arse and blast them with an AC20.

If there was, it would have to be a original character Hero Mech.

I like a Hunchback version with jumjets and rear-view-mirrors. And a candy-stick instead of a joystick.

i don't really think just over 90kph is slow for the damage any variant of the hunchback can bring really. the big AC orientated variants are noticeably slower though ):

Damnithowdidyou...ehrm...I mean yes. :( But minus the giant exhaust pipe. No customization whatsoever. It's just a little Honda. :)

Well, my post had a hidden meaning. (No kidding, eh?) There have to be rules and limitations, at least until we get Omnimechs. PGI set the rules and I like 'em. If you want a fast medium, you can always get a Cicada. Yes it has less firepower, but what do people expect? A super-mech, fast, robust, with huge firepower? The keyword is: Balance!

OOOoooh I used my parabolic walleye vision to see into the ether of space and time.

Speaking of fast devastating mechs. I watched a DDC with ECM running what seemed twice the speed of my founder atlas last night.

According to the Excel Mechlab, the fastest possible speed an Atlas 7D-DC can ever reach is 62kph, with a standard or xl 360 engine and the "speed tweak" pilot ability unlocked via elite skilltree...

Of course it is still possible that what you said is true, it just means that your giant walking target is moving with 31kph... :( *duck & cover* :)

And as an addition to my former statement:

Getting to know your own mech and it's specifics is key to the game and part of the fun imho. Yes, 48kph is slow, but an Atlas does not get so much benefits from walking faster. But it has firepower.

As a medium-mech player using mostly Hunchbacks that are rather slow (standard 200 in my 4G, standard 250 in my 4SP and standard 225 in my 4H) I know my role as support for the heavies and assaults.

Fast flanking maneuvers, scouting, harassing, that's not my job. There is no perfect mech. Which is good because it makes the game more interesting. Imho. :)

My group runs an assault lance with up to 4 Atlas, usually 2 of them are D-DCs all with 350s. With speed tweak they go 61kph and still have good firepower. So it could have been us.

Hunchback HBK-5SG has ECM to power its stealth armor, but that version doesn't come along for years. To my knowledge there are no canon fast hunchbacks.

i'm left handed and would like a hunchback to reflect this. So, put the hunch on the other side.

I'm trained as a medieval knight, to fight with both hands equally good. So, put the hunch on BOTH sides! <_<

(Yeah I know, the Hunchback IIC. *g*)

It is supposed to be slow. Use a Cicada, or the Centurion CN9-D.

Actually a pretty good idea. I think a hero hunchback would be really popular.
