When starting a match, I observed that the spot where my 'Mech's variant was displayed, it showed as "wwwwwww..." presumably from my pre-match attempts to accelerate.
Also, the base capture bars were not visible.
This was while piloting a COM-2D.

There has just got to be some race conditions / memory corruption going during startup that is the root cause of all these strange things.

This happens to me every few matches. If you'll notice, your map is also not turning with the mech; rather, your mech's arrow is turning on the map. I get all the same symptoms when it happens to me.

In that situation, I didn't have the map bugs. I have had them in the past, but that time it was fine.

Personally, I am a big fan of the WWWWWWWWWWWW variant. It brings a pretty balanced loadout, and it's iconic in Battletech.

I keep getting killed by WWWWWWWWWWWWWW and I demand it be nerfed.
(this has happened to me once, I thought little of it, a slight workaround is to thumb your scoreboard button to check the capture status)

I've seen this same bug on multiple occasions. Screen cap looks the same.

I got this bug once. I like to imagine my 'mech is the laughing variant.

I think I noticed this after coming back to play some games and not restarting the process inbetween. I wonder if there is some slow corruption with the process staying up.
