I know the specifics for the 'new user flow' haven't been released yet but I think something like "Trial Mech Only" queues are being considered. I'm sure one of the concerns is ensuring enough players to fill those matches w/out undue wait times. Well, I have an idea that would entice more veterans to play stock/trial mechs and make money for PGI. Of course, the basics of this idea would still make money for PGI even if it was segregated from the new player trial mech only queue...

Allow us to "buy" the trial mechs currently available for a flat 500 MC each (give or take but I don't see too many people opting for this if it costs as much as a fully owned mech). Now, this mech is in your "Trial Mech Bay" permanently. Every couple of weeks new trial mechs come out, and people have the option of using the current Trial Mechs in addition to the ones they "purchased" to play in the Trial Mech only queue. This would allow the multitudes of BT fans here (myself included) the ability to play in canon-variant-only matches and ensure plenty of players are available to form games with new players in trial mechs. These veteran players will be better than new players, but can also more readily share their experience with these new players.

Allowing players to only buy from the current trial mech selection keeps veterans attention on the trial mechs as they rotate, and gives a near constant incentive to buy as new mechs being introduced are often put into the trial rotation.

I've posted this suggestion too, but I believe the devs WONT do this.
It's not that they don't want to balance the game, its that without over powering, fun mechs that plow through trial mechs. Regular players will never see how crappy trial mechs are, and will never purchase a mech. Mech sales are what is going to keep this game company afloat.

That's an interesting point. Sad to think about it, I think a stock-class league would be great fun.

and how many of us here have bought a mech with MC at those prices? (Hero mechs don't count)

See that's what I'm thinking. MC for mechs isn't necessarily the best way to get monies. MC for mechbays, that's good. MC for premium time, value there (especially if they fix the boring XP thing...), and I think MC for extra stock/trial mechs that are only usable in a stock/trial mech queue, well, I'd spend MC for that, and I know dozens of my mates that would as well.

Thank you Bryn! It's funny how excited I am at the thought of stock-mech queues, and spending some real-world money to do it!

I think, maybe, if you could drop into these queues with your already bought 'mech, but when it gets into the match it's got a stock loadout and your previously set up camo/cockpit items? Maybe?

Or a button to temporarily switch to the legal stock loadout for the variant to join in.

I don't want to buy trial mechs, but I do want to play with stock variants of mechs I've already collected.
