  • World of tanks style, you press battle, 30 secs for everyone to load map then your on with it!!!!
  • Your mech should be sat in you mech lab ready to go.

Yes, you definitely should pick the 'mech you play on before battle.

Agreed. You want to design a Mech? Exit the match, hop into Mechlab and do it up on your own dime. When you're happy with the variant, head back over to matchmaking and get into a game. Wasting other people's time is, IMO, too common a form of disrespect in online gaming.
