If nobody purchased premium time because it ticked down while you weren't playing then they'd change it so that it didn't. His reasons for not purchasing premium time is relevant information to the developers.

It's 50% more EXP and C-bills, not 25%.

won't and will never happen all F2P games and, all that are not F2P
will never have a tick down option on premium time.

if its not worth the cash to pay into premium because of gaming hour's don't buy ;)
no one is forcing the issue.

I don't think they will either, because people will continue buying it.

I will never buy premium in its current form because it ticks down when I'm logged out. I have a job and a life outside of computer games.

If premium time only ticked down while I was logged in, I'd buy it regularly.

Just my 2 shekels.
Bwaaaaaaaaahahahah.

You know, MMORPG's like WOW and such have a $15 a month subscription...
It goes by the month. Doesn't tick down for the amount of time you play the game and those aren't even a F2P games where you don't even need to spend money. You spend money, you save time. It's all just a matter of how much time you spend on the game, how much time you want to save, and how much money you can spare.

What it comes down to sir, is if you find yourself playing 6 hours a day. Put those hours to good use and save you the time, buy premium. You will notice a very large increase. When they had founders active for those three weeks, all i did was farm farm farm. I still have 40 million c-bills that I don't know what to do with...

They are never going to change anything about MC, unfortunately. Because no matter what they charge, the biggest nerds on earth and people with more money than sense will be shelling out ridiculous prices and they're fine with that. Look at WoT as so many say... who in their RIGHT MIND buys a single tank upwards of $50 in a free to play GAME?

Well in that case I would definiately spend $1.39 to make those 2-3 hours worth while? And that is at the lowest dollar to MC rate. Do you people even leave the freaking house? You know how much it costs to go to a movie?
About $5, but I make the time to go before noon and it can be done on the weekends. I have a job too.

And one more thing, why pay when I can get it for free from the library?

Attacking people who choose to spend their discretionary income differently than you. You definitely put the "I" in team, it's in the hole, behind the "a".

I think you completely missed the point? What are you getting from the library? $5 movie? Does that include gas, snacks maybe a date / wife?

I am just saying 250MC ($1.39) to maximize your 3 hours of game time once a week seems cheap compared to just about anything else you could be doing - well except for chilling at the library for free.

Premium is amazing! 2500MC for one month is a great deal -- you'll make more cbills than 1-2 atlas playing a couple hours per day after the month is over. The more you play, the greater the value. In addition to earning more cbills, you earn more xp. It's the best way to level your mechs.

Of course, it's not immediate satisfaction, but in my experience, having played just over 1 month since the start of open beta, I've earned enough for 3 jenners, 3 hunchbacks, 3 catapults, 3 cataphracts, 3 atlas and finally 3 ravens before having to buy more premium time. I did play excessively, but this game is addictive (and I didn't play in closed beta!).

GL HF!

You should thank the "idiots" who use their discretionary funds to buy MC and premium time. PGI would like to make a sustained profit off of the game since they invested time and personnel to create it. The money made from the game pays the wages of the employees who probably have families and the rest goes to profit which can be used to expand the game or create new games. Capitalism is not a dirty word, People. It is freedom. I enjoy playing the game and wonder how people who play it can call it "unplayable." I see up to 16 people playing each match and I bet it seems very playable to them too. Sure it has glitches and when new patches are implemented to fix the issues new issues arise. Welcome to modern software development. Maybe you are just burned out and need a break from it. I will look to invest some money into the game after the New Year once all the Christmas shopping is completed. Then you can thank me for helping PGI create a profit thus extending the life of the game.

My point was that as consumers we have the ability to dictate what we pay for and how much we pay for it. Because some people are able to spend more liberally than others, we don't see prices change. People give away that power. This is a whole other matter of course. If many people are okay with those prices that's great! I've bought MC too, but you won't see me buying it regularly.

If time only ticked down while you were online it'd make no sense to sell us premium time at the rates they do. They'd have to be increased, which would also make them a worse buy...

Probably not a sustainable model.

And nobody else does it, so why would they try?

As has been suggested, if you hate the idea of wasting premium time, just buy piece-meal. It's not as cheap per day but if you only play once a week or so it's cheaper anyway.
