I've seen several instances of users in this community extracting game constants, such as mech hardpoints and weapon stats, from the game binaries. I have a few ideas for helpful gubbins and would like to make better use of my time in their creation; could someone please reveal to me a proven process for extracting meaningful data?

I'm not entirely sure that this practice falls withing the realm of the TOS.

You can open the files using winrar or almost any other zip program.

After that try Notepad++ or any other half intelligent plain text editor or if that doesn't work google the file extension.
