Question:

If i exclaim: "I challenge whoever dares face me to honourable combat" (awaits reply, then answer:) "state the designated coordinates as verification and we shall meet in glorious battle!"

instead of: "I challenge whoever dares face me in Zellbrigen" ( awaits reply, then answers: ) "Fine have it your way Freebirth scum, we shall initiate a grand melee then"

its ok for me to do it?
Surely knghtly conduct isnt unheard of in the IS mayhaps even chivalry exists within a population of countless billions...

Incidently, I have used both examples to try and go about having some 1v1 fun, so far, the results are as follows:

2 agreed and stated designated battle coords, only to realize we were on the same team, and went on with our business as teammates, fighting the enemy.

2 have agreed only to be slaughtered by the 4 pugs enroute to meet me.

1 have honuorably refused after surviving multiple pugs.

10+ have offered to have intercourse with various members of my family instead.

15+ have refused and started complaining that i was talking clan shi*.

1 Atlas opened fire on me for talking shi* , he was on my team.

All of these words are present in the english language as it is of today, and i doubt anyone unfamiliar with canon, would'nt understand what this implies.

Both versions of the challenge receives the same results, phrasing or not, somehow people are excessively too trollish for this to take place untill we get custom matches.

my point is this, Its entirely more troublesome for us that do these thinigs to accomplish said things, than it is for you to be bothered by a bit of text that appears for a few seconds... and with that I am officially derailing this thread into a discussion of

Why IS surats constantly and willingly declare themselves Dezgra allowing us to focus fire on them?

Surely fighting one clan trashborn is easier than getting creamed by 5 bloody clanners, or am i not seeing the bigger picture here?

Yeah, he was in the periphery.

Ironically, that is also where Mechwarrior Online seems to be taking place at the moment. It was already announced that Merc Corps would be utilizing periphery worlds as their form of CW, and none of the planets we've fought on so far have been named as far as I know.

Caustic HAS been named, actually, but I forget which one it is. And it's only implicitly named, based on a news that showed up on the site which claimed a cache of Lostech had been found.

It was pretty obvious the planet in question matched Caustic Valley.

But I don't think we got official confirmation.

Yes that's right there are spies, namely the Wolfs Dragoons under Clan Wolf. I'm going to pretend I'm part of the Wolfs Dragoons until clans come, in which case I'll gladly be, engineered, into an elemental and ready for some Dire Wolf // Timber Wolf action! Natasha Kerensky style baby oh ya!

My Dire Wolf is going to make your ECM looks like crap. :D

Wolf's Dragoons aren't spies.

Looks like someone found sarna.net and now thinks he knows something.

At least canon is spelled right.

Sorry, but yes, they are. However, in 3020, 15 years into their recon mission of the Inner Sphere, Khan Kerlin Ward altered the mission secretly. Even if the Dragoon's objected, with their navigation computers wiped, they couldn't return to the clan worlds for resupply like they normally would.

Recon Mission

For their long-term reconnaissance mission, Wolf’s Dragoons chose to work for each of the five large Successor States in turn to study them. Although their equipment clearly marked them as special, it also made them a force to be reckoned with and they had little trouble in finding employers.

There is a difference between recon and spying.

They had a spy network as well, WolfNet. It's funny how they were equipped with substandard 'Mech, which turned out to be better than any IS 'Mech, except maybe Comstar's 'Mechs.

I can either quote Sarna to support my side of the discussion, or you can just take my word on it. Which do you believe our community will be more inclined to do?

I was playing TT approximately 20 years ago, but I can't quote Sarna on that, sorry, so many of you probably won't believe me.
