Is this ****** for real? Did you really type all of that **** to try to justify why you don't fight, but rather play capture the square? I don't know about you, but I play this game for fun, I have NEVER played a game where I capped their base and went MAN I OWNED THOSE SCRUBS. The enjoyment in this game comes from shooting robots, with my robot. I'm not sure what sort of sad life you live that makes you think that winning stompy robots is a big deal, but protip, it's not.
Also please stop putting breaks inbetween

Each of your ideas

It is annoying.

Seriously why would you do this?

I don't even know.

After browsing 4 pages of drivel and ego, I suddenly realized this thread does have a purpose: it reminds me why I continue to be hesitant to join a dedicated premade.

We did have a couple of straight up losses but most of our lost games came from red square shenanigans. KONG will only try to outcap you if you go for the cap first. Mostly we just want to jam in our gundams.

The dragon/cent/hunch rush up the middle was a blast though

I would also like to express my personal dissatisfaction with the DHBs ungently behavior tonight. I mean, sure, this game has rules and playing by the rules is expected, but capping a severely underweight team when it comes charging straight into your 3 or 4 Atlases with Centurions, a Swayback an Awesome and some other shitmechs is just bad. We had so much fun fighting underweight and you killed that fun. At least we got one of your Atlases before being capped.
Do you, guys, really find it fun standing in the Red Square?

I get that it is a team game and the object is to win...but I really don't get how a win like that is satisfying to the people who do it.

From my point of view, since this is a game, not a tournament, and our real lives aren't on the line... you go for the win by killing everyone and you cap as a last resort or as a means to draw off enemies, and step off cap so you can kill them.

When a game ends in a cap race, regardless of which team won...If I haven't got a kill, and survived I feel like my time was just wasted even playing that match.

Apparently, when the enemies aren't drawn off, threads like this happen.

You should study Sun Tzu more:

]“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

It matters not how good of a pilot you are if your enemy outsmarts you. That is what a base capture means.

This isn't war, but giant robots fighting. If I wanted to play tacticool general again, I'd not have gotten into MWO.

Actually, it is in fact war whether you chose to recognize it or not.

But the same process still applies. You have to be smarter than your enemy to dictate how/when/if battle takes place. If you want to duke it out, then you have to be smart enough to force your enemy to do so. Not my fault if you can't manage that.

If this is about River City drop last night, I suppose, I was commanding that fight. We had 3 assaults, 1 heavy, 2 mediums and 2 lights (that went to scout lower city from the very start and eventually found the base undefended). Yes, you managed to force us into CQ fight (tactical win), but lost your base (strategical loss). Oh, and also, didn't we kill/cripple like 2 of your mechs on our base cap? So, was it "ungently", or just an adequate tactical response?

If you leave a spot open, it will be hit. Leave "Zellbrigen" and all this stuff to clanners.

In the end, Kong always wins.

Because we're having fun, both in game, and on the forums.

No lie, this thread has provided me more entertainment than the average PUG match ever could.

The star league refuses to even consider using ECM, yet sweeps the opposition in 500 year old mechs. Mercs, are you even trying?

Stalker 3FB a Star League "Royal" BattleMech carried ECM... Don't follow your point sir????

We killed your silly LRMboat double-D with a single TAG in the arm, and that was about the whole game right there. I was the guy who killed him, as he kept trying to back away from my dangerous cent and a dragon.

Least exciting game I've ever played, and I even made it a point to tell people to give you a good battle in vent. Respectable, indeed. I think the average teenage first encounter lasts longer than a fight with DHB.

What you've got to understand about us here in Kong is the only time our whining is serious is when it;s a basecap rush. If however your "crushing victory" or whatever is from a basecap where no one even bothered to engage us at all we will belittle your manhood.

I think I'll hire G4S, sure the guys they send might be a bit lazy, but I know that if I stick their desk, the mini fridge, the coffee maker, and the microwave on the base, they are guaranteed to keep it secure.
Oh wait... bathroom breaks... BAH BOWEL MOVEMENTS FOIL ME AGAIN!!

Well, that was my Atlas, FYI. Again, two of you went for our base, we had it covered (that is how you managed to separate me from brawlers in the first place). Our lights went for yours, you had not. Do not pretend to be "we ignore base as tactical asset" guy.
Again, leave a spot uncovered - and you will be hit there.
