Seriously, if 'they' made MW3 run fine on Win XP (and later versions of windows) and sold it over steam or something, it would sell like warm pretzels hot cakes.

Agreed, MechWarrior 3 was my first love in the MechWarrior Franchise, still play it from time to time. Good on you Skillfultree on wanting to play the superior (my opinion only) MechWarrior game since 2...I can't wait for MW:O to break that love and give me something badass and modern.

Agreed, lol. I'm pretty sure I have my mw3 laying around somewhere, I wanted to play it a few months back but I never learned to get it working on Windows XP and couldn't find it easily online any longer. I remember buying MW4 on release day and selling it like 3 weeks later, then playing MW3 on my old pentium 2 350mhz til the zone finally closed down. :s

Bwahaha! The ISO is still sitting on my external HD, knew I was too smart to risk losing my first ever online love, lol. Now I need to find out how to get it working on XP and I'm golden.

Well the easiest way is to go download Daemon Tools Lite if you don't already have it and use that to mount the ISO to a virtual drive - it may sound complicated but DTL will guide you through it pretty well with its help files and such if you need them. That'll let you install from the ISO as if it were the actual CD, after which you can patch it to 1.2. After that the real fun begins, because getting it to work on Windows XP or newer is troublesome at best. That's what I've lost track of how to do properly, I'm running XP SP3 and most fixes I can find are for SP2 or earlier. :s Ah well, I'll find the answer at some point.

Yes, yes you do. Depending on what version you tracked down it may not even work without it.

eBay's always a good bet. Until then, you can always download the demo to satiate your 'Mech appetite.

Have you tried Mektek's MW4 mercs? it is free to download, and a boatload of fun, laser boats, missle boats, etc. I downloaded around a month or so ago, I really like Solaris!! Get a Blackheart when you can afford one when you get to the heavy class, you shall enjoy!http://www.mektek.ne...downloads-r1204

hoping anyone can help with a quick question....

What was the name of the site that used to host all the MW3 matches and forums? i just vaguely remember logging into a place to find fights and hang out with others and chat.. but i cant remember who hosted the site??
i used to live on there for hours every day... but age and time have reduced my memory of it to almost nothing,, just a vague fuzzy warm feeling of all the good times and a name of 1 person i used to spend all my time with... DC_Path i believe.. hehe.. good times!

You can [REDACTED] on Demonoid, if you really want to. Although there will be a mark on your soul.

There are "places" online to get it. I would not consider it pirating since its not made anymore.

Pirating isn't legitimate until it is abandonware, and MW3 isn't technically abandonware yet.

...but I wouldn't let that stop me.

Hey, I had it when I was 5 years old, and I threw it away because I thought the campaign was broken. Turns out I was just a dirty cheater. :)

I didn't think we were allowed to openly discuss online piracy.

Not that I have anything against it.
