Farts... yes, you read that right - my laser weapons FART at the enemy. As does every other laser in the game... the noise is so excruciatingly bad that it's made me stop playing altogether. Is there an estimated fix for this? I've tried even dropping down to stereo mode... no difference. MWO in 7.1 surround sound sounds badass... but one of the latest patches just broke the hell out of the sounds... come on PGI! Get it together!

I think the patch notes said 7.1 was broken, try lowering that

Are you sure you are using Stereo? My headphones work fine switched over to Stereo, but I went back to 7.1 anyway as I can ignore the buzzing laser sound but the added location sense of footsteps and such really helps me.

Where are you guys even seeing the sound options? I am seeing no way to modify it.

I wish my lasers sounded like farts... that way I would have something else to blame.

Yeah, 100% sure. I can't seem to fix it no matter what I do... it's quite irritating. I also get the same noises when I walk through water at high speed.

Wild guess here, but does this only happen within the game? What about other loud noises?
What happens when you turn the volume down low, does it go away?
I had an hdtv do this to me. It took me a month to figure out the amp inside the tv was clipping the audio.

Turn your left ear mid channel down to 0. That is where the broken sound is coming from, on the G930 headset I use, the management software has the ability to turn down specific channels. Windows should have a similar utility for calibrating 7.1 SS if you don't use a Logitech series headset.

Heh, nope - every other game is great, as is my music

Uhm... I'll look into it - I haven't checked into that yet to be honest. Left side mid channel... I'll see what I can do

Okay, so I looked at my settings - doesn't look like I can control individual sound channels on my headset sadly... *sighs* I guess I'll just not play until (if) PGI fixes this... which is a shame really... how this got screwed up in the first place I'll never understand.
