I was just in a game with a fairly vocal fellow with gold text who was a Lord of something or other according to his name. Now sometimes ladies and gents that are granted special chat text by clicking a button have genuinely useful information to impart upon their subjects... but usually not.

The gentleman in question berated a fellow player for suiciding into the enemy team because he had the low FPS memory leak bug. Not because he might have been of more tactical use (although I don't see how he could have done anything more useful given the state of his game), no, this Lord verbally attacked our team-mate because he dared call the memory leak a bug. Apparently, according to our esteemed commander, it was not a bug but a memory leak. This was a strange kind of logic which upon being reasoned with, merely brought the victim down to the same intellectual level as the Lord With Gold Text. This became apparent when the Lord inexplicably began to guess the ethnic origin of his team-mate's mothers. I have no idea whether he was correct or not, but I'm positive about one thing: At no point during the game did the golden text in chat contain any information relevant to helping us lay the smackdown upon the enemy's mechs.

So Mechwarriors, what's the dumbest, most idiotic text you've seen in-game that has been coloured a gold most unbefitting of its content? Screenshots aren't necessary - we'll just take your word for it.

Whoops thought you could only take command with a command module installed in your mech!

lol battle commander is not a special text granted by buying anything..you just hit the map key and click the "Take commander" button

OP, you are aware that anyone can assume command of the match and type in gold letters right? Couldn't quit tell if you could from the OP.

Look, here's the thing. At least from what i see, orders issued via "commander" look like the same text as death notices (ie. "biscuit has killed pancake").

Never use the tunnel. Always take the bridge past the Caldera. You'll avoid the rush hour traffic.

That being said, the most interesting gold text I've seen was my own, when I'd never actually chosen to be commander. Must've been divine providence.
