It would be nice to see what friendly fire damage people have caused, including myself.
I know tking is a possibility, even with the best of intentions. However, team damage is a problem and in incorporating a penalty as well a visual number indicator, such as the one already in effect for regular damage, will most likely discourage free firing. My rear armour takes more damage from teammates than enemy mechs.
I realize that teamates will always walk in front when you take that critical shot, but some players don't even hesitate to fire regardless if they see teammates walking in their line of fire.
Another possibility is subtracting team damage done from total cbills accumulated from a match or even from xp acquired. (At least not from what I've seen)
My point in all of this is to discourage friendly fire, because as of right now, there is no penalty aside from actually TKing a teammate.
Best,

I would like to see Friendly Damage Received and Friendly Damage Done on the End Game Summary window.
I think people don't really realize how much they hit friendlies by accident. I've only been rarely actually killed by a teammate, but I know that sometimes I take a large amount of damage from friendlies and have also accidentally damaged my teammates as well.. I'd like to see exactly by how much.

I have noticed far more friendly fire incidences as of late. Yesterday I started no less then two games where friendly fire blew off ALL my rear torso armor. Because shooting the ground as a weapon test and not the mech directly in front of them is a difficult concept. It got so bad one game, I snapped and blew out a not so friendly atlas' cockpit because he tested his AC 20, lasers, and SRMs into my back. Without even apologizing.
So, anything that shames them into not shooting friendlies? I whole heartedly support.

Probably what has happened is that they had another window open (web browser or something), and when they clicked back to MWO (instead of alt-tab) it fired their weapons. I've done that before, but I pilot lights, so never more than a couple of laser hits.
Always use alt-tab to switch back to the game.
In response to OP, I would like to see this as well. I want to know how often I am accidentally running in front of people.
EDIT: spelling
