In my dragon, I can fall several meters without taking any damage. In a commando, you take falling damage just by falling 1 meter, it is ridiculous how easy it is to damage the legs on a commando from falling damage. They should be brought in line with other mechs for falling damage.

you even get falling damage as soon as you run over some rubble.
it is REALLY ridicoulus, but i guess it has to do with the speed you have....

Incorrect title...
ALL light mechs take too much fall damage.

You take little to no damage if your not going full tilt over terrain I find. But a lot of it has simply to do with the amount of armor each mech has - particularly in the legs. Its going to show much, much faster in a commando than a dragon.

The amount of damage done is the same, it is just a larger percentage of total armor for a light, that is why it will be noticed in the paper-doll easier. Also the faster your going the more damage.

Yep, this isn't just commandos, they took fall damage out for awhile, then put it back in, wish they'd adjust it a bit so big falls hurt but walking on some random terrain didn't, it's ridiculous atm what qualifies as damage from a fall, but it does seem to be pretty negligible damage as well so I suppose it isn't the end of the world.
Would be great if a mechanic like this actually mattered, taking a large fall caused some serious damage to your legs or even gave you a speed debuff for awhile or the rest of the match instead of any time your mech changes altitude it ticking 1 off. As it is currently, I don't worry about the fall damage, I spend entire matches trucking off of ledges at 148kph because I'd rather take the trivial damage from a fall than an enemies weapon, not to mention my legs have about 10 points of armor more than any other spot on my body, so they can definitely take the punishment...
